Guest guest
Can anyone here give me examples of how this diet has helped your child with issues around anger/frustration/disruptions at school? Mom and I think SCD might help another mother she works with, who has an Asperger's 9 year old. These are what she states are his worst issues right now. She's actually had teachers/other adults who've worked with him say things like he's an abomination. Can you imagine???????? Makes my blood boil!!!! Well, any progress around these issues would be great if you feel like sharing. I've already shared all the improvements we've seen in Luke. in NC Mom of Luke, age 5, Asperger's/salicylate intolerant/diarrhea pre-SCD; , age 3, healthy; and , 19 mos, healthy All SCD since 1/26/
Guest guest
> Thanks Joyce, I appreciate feedback from someone with an older child. Well, is almost 5 - so not really an " older child " , but meltdowns, anger outbursts, agitation, etc. were a big problem for us before he went on SCD. Those things were the first to dissappear - almost instantly. I really think it was all related to sensory issues, something Asperger's kids deal with. I think they get overloaded, so the slightest thing can throw them into a tizzy. That's how it was for . Now, he has minor tantrums, less than even NT kids. He gets bothered by things, but can handle them so much better, and it's just not as extreme. I think it would be great if they could give it a try. A child that age that is verbal will likely be able to articulate a lot of the improvements as they happen. son - 5yo in May, ASD, SCD 11 months

Guest guest
This has been a big improvment area for us. Sam hits less, transitions better and doesn't freak out as much. He is still easily frustrated, but it comes out in words more than actions now. Yesterday a girl in class got in his way on the playground. He punched her. But instead of blaming it on her and coming up with reasons and excuses for his actions, he immediately said, " sorry, I should not have done that. I will use gentle hands from now on. " In the past it would have taken 10-30 minutes to get that out of him and he would have been crying and freaking out the entire time. He's still an energetic and precocious boy, but he's much much much less impulsive and easier to deal with. He's less defensive, less anxious, and happier. That's my plug for SCD!
