Actually, I think you will find that exercise will boost your energy level considerably. Don't worry about passing out or getting sick mid trail. IgAN is not known to cause sudden attacks like that. If you feel too fatigued, just slow your pace a little, but persevere and live your life to the fullest! Have a fantastic bike ride this weekend! Guest guest
That back pain you describe is referred to as flank pain, and is fairly common among those of us with IgAN. It is normally pretty mild discomfort, but some of our members do have severe flank pain. Sorry you are among those who seem to be afflicted with this symptom. Guest guest
Planning something is the first step in doing it. I can't see any reason why you would pass out or get sick. As said, IgAN isn't like that, assuming there's nothing else. Just doing it will probably give you more energy. Exercise actually helps to keep the level of red blood cell production up. Guest guest
I would bet it's more your body getting used to the blood pressure medications. 100mg of Cozaar and 50mg of metoprolol can be a pretty powerful combination. It would just about floor me, whereas others might not even notice they are taking it. Metoprolol is a beta blocker (I was on it at one time). On many people, they really cause you to feel more tired or listless, and you may feel less ability to exercise hard. Just about all BP meds can cause stomach upset too. It's very hard for anyone to say with these kinds of effects. You may just have to grin and bear it for a while and see how it goes. Of course, you should talk to your doctor about the fatigue. Pierre P.S. The standard recommended " maintenance " dosages of most BP meds aren't really tailored to women, or even smaller men, for that matter. Sometimes, when you have problems, it's just a matter of starting with smaller doses. Don't do this without consulting your doctor though - there could be a real risk involved. Re: energy > Thanks for the replies > > I do have high blood pressure, but I take 100mg of Cozaar usually at night before bed > and twice a day 50mg of Metoprolol. It goes up and down, but with med the highest it's being is 185/100 after getting really upset. Usually is 130-140/85-90. > I did have a biopsy done two weeks ago, but I am feeling fine no pain or anything. > I do get very mild nausea from time to time, and some days I have no energy and feel totally sick. But overall most days I feel fine. except for back pain, which I am wondering > if is Kidney relate or it is stress from the knowledge of being sick? >
Guest guest
You might want to consider iron supplements. My neph recomended them the last time I was in. They are available over the counter. Of course, check with your dr. first. They made a large impact on my stamina. I have always exercised regularly so I was surprized when I started getting tired five minutes into a work out. Now I can hang in there. Some days will be better than others as far as energy levels go. Remember it is best to rest when you need to. Guest guest
Hi , I can't agree with you more. I take Epogen injections for the past few years, and in my book, it is a miracle drug that gave me my life back! It REALLY helps with the energy level. Speaking of Epogen, Pierre, has it kicked in for you? Are you feeling better now that you have been on Epo for a while?
Guest guest
, do your injections hurt? Mine burn like the devil when injected (right at the end and then afterward). I've been poked so much this last year you wouldn't think this would bother me, but it sure does. Re: energy Hi , I can't agree with you more.
