I only need those that have gone thru the W/C trap to read this....those that can hopefully help me. Right now, I'm wondering what to do. I'm on my second lawyer so far. I am not only going against W/C, but I also have a case against my own Car Insurance, under the Uninsured/Underinsured policy. Ok......I was just told by another lawyer that I can fire my lawyer, although I've already signed the papers saying that I will take the settlement that my lawyer and the W/C lawyer came to agreement with. I can write out on paper saying that I am firing him due to I do not like the way that he didn't listen to me and did not follow my wishes during the settlement. Doing this, it would mean that I wouldn't have to take the settlement, and I could find a new lawyer and still take W/C to court, and wouldn't have to worry about filing for Bankruptcy. The way we are doing things now is like this: I was pretty much forced to sign the papers for the settlement by being told that they would take me to court for breech of contract. Right now, The settlement is for $25,000, and after the lawyer, who did little to nothing cause between me and the first lawyer did most of everything.....I get a whole $16,094 . Somehow, this lawyer seems to think that just filing the papers in court and the like.....with me getting the papers and all from all doctors and the works.....that he deserved $9 grand of my money. No Back medical bills are to be paid, which is where the bankruptcy comes in.....and there is no future medical either....as I was told "it was never brought up in the conversation". So, now, I have had an offer from my own car insurance for a whole thousand dollars....which the lawyers office laughed at them. I have a pile of papers to fill out to file bankruptcy.....which I'm totally lost with...... a pile of papers to fill out for SSI, my appeal....which the same lawyer who is going to be handling my bankruptcy is going to also handle my SSI appeal. To top it off.....Gene's deal from when he got hit head-on on Jan. 4, 2003, is also in the same law firm....different lawyer, but same flunky that is handling my car insurance part. anyone confused yet??? Ok.....Somehow, they have to get Gene's case, my Car insurance Case, and whatever else all wrapped up at the same time I receive my whole whopping $16,094...cause either the day I get that money, or the day after, will be the day I file for the bankruptcy....and somehow, when they file that for me, they will not be able to touch any money that we receive from any settlements. Now.....should I fire this idiot I have now......and go with the other one???? Or, should I just stick with the idiot I have and finish out with what he has already started??? HELP!?!?!?!?!?! I'M TOTALLY FREAKING CONFUSED HERE!!!!!!!!!!!
