Guest guest
Hello everyone. I love your support group, I read it every day. I am pre-surgery. As of yet, I do not have a surgery date although I have been approved for the surgery and have all my pre-testing completed. In order to schedule my surgery date, I have to lose 10% of my body weight. The surgeon's office will not even schedule until I'm within 10 pounds of my goal weight and then I MUST lose that ten pounds by the day of surgery. In addition to this, I had to quit smoking. My quit smoking date was October 18th, 2005. For this, I am very proud of myself, and feel much better just from quitting smoking alone. Having said that, it has been ten times harder for me to lose the required 10% weight. In fact, when they weighed me in the surgeon's office my weight was 294. They set my required weight at 265. Since I left the office that day, I have actually gained weight! So, now I need to lose the extra weight I've gained in addition to the required weight. I'm frustrated. I've been on Weight Watchers for 2 weeks now, solemenly sticking to it, and if you can believe this, I have gained TWO pounds! I'm at my wit's end!! I broke down today. I just want to get to the point that I am able to have the surgery. I don't know what's happening. It's almost like quitting smoking slowed my metabolism so much that I can't lose weight even on a 1200 calorie diet. I'm not really looking for any advice. Maybe just some support. I'm fed up with myself and with my weight. I just want to lose the weight I need to lose in order to get to my surgery date. Please keep me in your prayers. I'm 32 years young, and have so much to look forward to once my body is transformed into an active, healthy, fit vehicle. Thank you for having this support group. I watch your messages every day and find things that constantly apply to me.
