Guest guest
" I put all the ingredients in the blender and planned on blending it for the 10 minutes, like you suggested. But I started smelling a burning smell, so I stopped after 2 min. " Two minutes seems a bit short. But to wreck your blender is another thing... " So then I strained it through a sieve into a saucepan and brought it to a boil. I then let it cool to room temp and followed the rest of the instructions. Do you think this will make a difference? " I never ever boil it. After 3 incidents I promised myself not to heat it: I once forgot the blender and it whizzed away for 54 minutes (really). The nut milk had heated up till hot. The yoghurt failed. Another time the same thing happened when I wanted to make just the regular nut milk (to drink), this separated in the bottle. My son likes his nut milk warm, but after a couple of minutes, the milk separates. You decide. " I have another question: Why do you have to drip it overnight? " After the 'warm' fermentation, in the fridge there will be more fermenting in the pot. It just needs time. Overnight to me is a maximum of say, 8 hours. Some say 5 hours is OK, but only if the fridge is nice and cold. " If I do that it will drip for at least 12 hrs. " No problem Marjan

Guest guest
Well, I think I have yogurt. I let it refrigerate overnight and dripped it for 45 minutes and it's a nice thick yogurt. It tastes tart like it should. It actually has a very mild flavor. I think the boys are really going to like it (now let's just hope they tolerate it!) Gia Mom to Jack and , SCD 8 mos. " Gia, just before going to bed (tired tired tired), you just made a miserable day (nothing to do with my son, guys) a little brighter. Thank for posting that!
