Guest guest
Hi There , I went for my appointment with the surgeon today. He thinks that I should think about having my other breast off . He also thinks I should have my ovaries taken. Do I or don't I? I have 6 months to think about it as my next appointment is in April. He said that they don't usually do anything for a year after surgery anyway. On a positive note he said I'm doing very well. I asked him about lymphodemia and my arm and he said that I should be doing now what I was doing before the mascetomy, I said even carrying heavy cartons of chooks and he said that I'm young and should work up to what I was doing before. I don't know how I'm going to make a decision on whether to get my left one removed....wish that someone could make that decision for me. He said that it costs $1500 an implant, they aren't covered on medicare. He didn't give me any other options like the trams flap etc...only mentioned the implants.
