Guest guest
Thats great ! You must be SO happy! Have you been taking progress pictures of ? I'd love to see them if you have. Many of our babies here are a plagio/brachy combo. I think the plagio just tends to take the front seat b/c of the assymetry associated w/it. , mom to Hannah, DOCband #3 3/30 Cape Cod, Ma > first a short update on kathryn...she had her 2nd adjustment on 5/24 > and mindy (our therapist) was just amazed at the progress kathryn has > made. she even brought in another therapist to make sure she was > looking at her head right. we are so happy. we never expected the > band to work this fast...i personally consider it a lot of answered > prayers. anyways they said the back of kathryn's head is now > symetrical and just needs to " fill out " a little more (she has > moderate plagio/brachy) and her forehead needs just a tiny bit more > to be symetrical. she also said her ears are even and so are her eyes > (kathryn also has moderate tort). i asked mindy about kathryn having > both brachy and plagio...someone had told me she couldn't have both, > that she either had one or the other...mindy said she does have both, > she said the way she would classify it is that kathryn is on the > brachy side of plagio and that because of her tort she did have > plagio/brachy(Anyone else out there have this??) so all is going > great, we have faith it will continue to go great!!...Now for the > THANK YOU, not too long ago i posted about hating kathryn's PT > because she cried thru it, well this group is awsome and really came > thru with support and suggestions. we took the advice and put it to > use (we bought a colorful, musical, " singing " turtle to put on her > side when " twisting " ) and i can happily say it has helped a lot. > things are not always perfect but she doesn't fight nearly as often, > it has also helped that i have gotten pretty good at getting the band > back on my " little moving target " , so again THANK YOU to all who > helped me thru!!! > kelly(mom to kathryn, plagio/brachy/tort, banded 5/03 texas)
Guest guest
, That's great that 's improvement was so noticeable to the therapist! I'm thrilled that you all have seen such great correction in so many areas, that is wonderful! I just wanted to post that Remy had plagio/brachy... she was flat all across the back at birth, and then developed plagio on one side of the back of her head. You can look at her 5 month progress photo before we started repo to see what I am describing (photos/before and after/repositioned.) Basically, Remy had a brachy cephalic ration of about 1.00, and also some cranial vault asymmetry on the back right side of her head. Having her head correct to being more symmetrical was a big overall improvement, and we also did realize a big improvement in her cephalic ratio as well. Please keep us posted on 's progress, I'd love to hear about it as you go in for adjustments, etc. Take care, Christie (Mom to Repo'd Remy) > first a short update on kathryn...she had her 2nd adjustment on 5/24 > and mindy (our therapist) was just amazed at the progress kathryn has > made. she even brought in another therapist to make sure she was > looking at her head right. we are so happy. we never expected the > band to work this fast...i personally consider it a lot of answered > prayers. anyways they said the back of kathryn's head is now > symetrical and just needs to " fill out " a little more (she has > moderate plagio/brachy) and her forehead needs just a tiny bit more > to be symetrical. she also said her ears are even and so are her eyes > (kathryn also has moderate tort). i asked mindy about kathryn having > both brachy and plagio...someone had told me she couldn't have both, > that she either had one or the other...mindy said she does have both, > she said the way she would classify it is that kathryn is on the > brachy side of plagio and that because of her tort she did have > plagio/brachy(Anyone else out there have this??) so all is going > great, we have faith it will continue to go great!!...Now for the > THANK YOU, not too long ago i posted about hating kathryn's PT > because she cried thru it, well this group is awsome and really came > thru with support and suggestions. we took the advice and put it to > use (we bought a colorful, musical, " singing " turtle to put on her > side when " twisting " ) and i can happily say it has helped a lot. > things are not always perfect but she doesn't fight nearly as often, > it has also helped that i have gotten pretty good at getting the band > back on my " little moving target " , so again THANK YOU to all who > helped me thru!!! > kelly(mom to kathryn, plagio/brachy/tort, banded 5/03 texas)
