Guest guest
Hello! I'm new, as I'm sure you know. I had my surgery (Roun-Y) on 12/23/05. And am learning how it feels to accidently over eat and want to vomit, even though I cannot. God I hate that feeling. And I never do it intentionally. I'd have to really be sick minded to do that. I'm still trying to get the vitamin taking down. I have friends that have had the surgery and they do things a little different than what my Dr or Nutritionist had told me to do. So I'm learning. And one be able to tell me if it's okay to do all the re-check's with your regular doctor rather than the surgeons office where you had the procedure done? I live in NM (for school) and had my surgery done in CA. But it sure is inconvenient, not to mention expensive to go all the way to CA for my re-checks. Anyway, it's nice to meet all of you, and I'm sure I'll be online as often as I can. I've got 25 units at school, so I'm usually at school or sleeping. I get really tired really quick these days. Guest guest
Hi Vannfe!!! Congrats on your surgery and WELCOME to the group!! I do my rechecks with my regular family Dr. You just need to make sure they run all of the labs that need to be ran and keep track of your levels. Since you are a newbie I would try to see your surgeon at your 6-month mark. Some surgeons suggest you have labs once a year, I have my family Dr. run mine every 6 months. I like keeping a close eye on them. I would take your lab results to your surgeon when you come home to visit, just in case he sees something your family dr doesn't. I fully trust my family Dr. she is familiar with RNY and knows what my needs are. I don't plan on seeing my surgeon again unless something happens. It is a waste of time. I go in and he says how are you I say fine. He says WOW your are doing great I say thank you and I leave!!!! LOL it just isn't worth my time at this point. Good luck Chickee!!!!! Hugs!! > > Hello!
