Guest guest
No what happens is as time goes on your ability to eat more quantity of food does increase HOWEVER never like before my stomach starts off as 1 oz and probably now can hold 4-5 oz of food at a time. I think the human stomach is 80oz? is that right? Well anyway I have to watch what I eat yes definitely ... for example technically I could eat a bag of chips by grazing through it all day in small quantities .. right? so if I ate those all day in small quantitites I'd still eat the whole bag at the end of the day. Thus if you did that enough you'd regain weight. So its not an automatic. Surgery is only a TOOL to help get most of the weight off. I have to be sensible just like anyone else and only take in so many calories. Now the weight I " m at is stable so my body is taking in the same amount of calories it is putting out. If i want to lose more weight I have to decrease my calories. So I watch calories AND I do low carb. I do protein first, then veggies and then any carbs. So yes to answer your question I don't like the word diet but I will have to watch what I eat the rest of my life just like anyone else. As for do I eat less? Yes. Again another example I went out for lunch yesterday & had a cup of chowder. A cup not a bowl. The cup was small but I ate it all but it filled me. Normally someone might have a cup as an appetitzer and go on to eat a big meal. The cup does me fine. What happens if I eat too much? Well I haven't eaten so much that I would throw up but thats what would happen. The food would literally come back up my throat as having no where to go but I " ve never done it. The most I've done is maybe take one bite too many and felt really uncomfortable for about 20 minutes until the food " moved " but again I really try not to do that either. Not good for me. I reached my surgeon's original goal of 145. He said I'd probably get to 130 but I never did. I " m 137 lbs this morning I'm trying to finish the last 7 lbs off but its hard. I still love food As for tucks or plastic surgery ... I haven't had any yet but I'd like to get a tummy tuck & breast lift as soon as I have the $$$ which won't be for awhile. http://www.obesityhelp.com/morbidobesity/ is a great website that can answer alot of questions. Lyssa Re: Big News! - Lyssa Lyssa, Thanks for all the answers. That's fantastic. Will you always still have to diet? Did you reach your goal? Do you eat much less now? What happens if you eat too much? Since you lost so much weight, did you have to have any tucks? Sorry for all the questions. I don't know much about it and I guess I thought once you had this done, that you didn't need to diet anymore and just got thin. At least the doctors recommend locarb. My brother asked his doctor about going on Atkins and told him about me. The doctor said it was unhealthy and that I was just going to gain all my weight back anyway.
