Add a Stability Ball

Stuck in a fitness rut? Try adding a stability ball (also known as a

Swiss ball) to your routine. Originally used in physiotherapy, these

inflatable, burst-resistant orbs are now incorporated into

flexibility, core-conditioning and strength-training routines. Some

ideas to get you started:

Use the ball as a stretching aid by draping your upper body over it,

facing up or down, and let gravity take over.

Hold it between your legs while doing raised-leg crunches.

Sit on it while watching television or bring it to work and use it

at your desk–it forces you to adopt good posture and engage core

muscles, simply to remain upright.

Tip: You can find special workout tapes at your library or bookstore

for more stability ball exercises.
