Guest guest
, Caprine Estates goat milk will ship directly to you. Their goat milk tastes the most like cow's milk I think. They are in Ohio. They have some sort of special deal if you go on their 6qt every 2 weeks automatic shipment plan. I need to call them myself to get the details on this, but you could call them as well. Their website is http://www.caprineestates.com There is also a place in Texas that ships goat's milk, goat butter and goat DCCC. http://www.whiteegretfarms.com As for making the yogurt sweeter, you can add whatever you want after the whole yogurt making process is over. You can mix in honey, fruit, " granola " (SCD) or anything else you might like in yogurt. Jody mom to -5 and -7 SCD 13 months
Guest guest
, The powdered goat milk is legal..... there are other parents here who use it..... although fresh milk might be ideal. You might want to call a local 4-H club in your area..... or rural outskirts, if you're in an urban area..... to find a small local goat farm that would be willing to sell milk to you. Patti , mom to Katera, SCD 10 months ----- Original Message ----- I'm new to this group and I wonder if someone could give me some advice. Although my son has been on the diet for the better part of 3 years, I have never made goats milk yogurt and I would like to give it a try. All I can find in the health food stores in my area is powdered goats milk. Is this legal and if not where can I get legal goats milk? Also, do you sweeten the yogurt to make it taste better? Guest guest
> Patti, I asked at my HFS if they could get goat's milk for me...they could. So, you might try asking at your local HFS. I had to wait a week, but she was able to get it for me, $6.95 per 2 qt size. I made to goat's milk yogurt. It was the BEST yogurt I had ever had. I dripped half of it. I tried several of the recipes on the website and in the book. I also made Tzasiki sauce for me and my husband, smoothies for me & my daughter. I tried to get my ASD son to try it...he said he didn't like it. I am going to keep trying. > > >
