Leila, another reason (besides the recurrent UTI's) that I wonder if

you have IC, is you seem to have many of the health problems often

associated with those of us who have IC....see if this list doesn't

sound familiar to you...

XXXXX

: What are some other medical problems associated with IC?

Dr. Green: Concomitant gynecologic conditions include

endometriosis, vulvodynia, ovarian cystic disease, and pelvic

inflammatory disease. Patients may also be sensitive to food,

chemicals, and environmental agents. Migraines are a common

complaint, as are fibromyalgia, inflammatory bowel disease, and

irritable bowel syndrome. IC patients also have a higher incidence

of autoimmune diseases than the general population, including

Sjogren's (dry eyes, dry mouth), systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE),

Hashimoto's thyroiditis, and decreased lymphocyte counts.

Again, the way to tell if it's recurrent UTI's or the beginning

stages of IC is by the urine cultures. So I am eagerly awaiting for

what you have to say about the results of your urine cultures! If

they all show emphatic signs of infection (e.coli for instance) then

I'll shut up about IC. If they are questionable or even sterile

(not talking about the " dip " test as that is often positive even in

IC patients because of inflammation) then I strongly urge you to get

a consult with a urologist and explore this further.

Oh...I thought Hashimotos was hypothyroidism. So is Hashimotos both hyper

and hypo? Sorry if my questions are dumb. Trying to learn here!

Hey Bev....it's just that pills and capsules irritate my stomach. I am

taking raw adrenal but haven't noticed a benefit yet. The thing is that I

only take half a capsule a day though. SO I guess it's not enough to benefit

me. But if I take more, I get nauseus! AHH!

Hi Leila. Not a dumb question! There are some docs who think that

all hypothyroid is Hashi's. But Hashi's is an inflammation and has

some very obvious symptoms. MANY of us did not start out with an

inflammation. We just slowly became hypo.

Hashi's is like a volcano that becomes hypo; some us became hypo

like a slow midslide. LOL
