Guest guest
Hi, Savannah had her followup appointment today with a different ped since getting out of the hospital last week. He mentioned her eyes being misaligned so I asked him if he knew anything about the helmet or band for plagiocephaly and if he thinks she needs one. He said he thought that would be a good idea for her so he ordered xrays for Monday. Also, I guess we do have someone here in Rapid City, SD that can do the helmet so that is good news. I will post that info once we get that far. That was much easier than trying to convince her regular ped! So now I'm just wondering what exactly are they looking for with the xrays? He said he couldn't just write a prescription for a helmet without seeing xrays because she may need surgery first?! How common is that? I guess I have so many questions now, I'm sure I will probably have more as we get going. Amber
Guest guest
Amber, A lot of peds/specialist will order x-rays or CT scans to rule out craniosynostosis. Cranio is premature fusion of one or more sutures. You can learn more about cranio by going here: http://www.cappskids.org/ I'm glad you saw a different ped! Keep us posted.S tacy --- In Plagiocephaly , " Amber " <amber.goldpages@m...> wrote: > Hi, > Savannah had her followup appointment today with a different ped since > getting out of the hospital last week.
