Hi , it is so very nice to hear from you again. We have all missed you. I am so very sorry for everything that you have gone thorough lately. The Benefit for your cousin, your brother's illnesses and all the bills that had to cause, your over all health. Oh wow have you been through it. Thank you so very much for worrying about all of us. How absolutely wonderful of you. I also never knew you lost a son, I suppose I did not have the privilage of knowing you back then or all the medication I am on has caused me not to be able to remember your terrible loss. Yes, losing a pet stinks. It is just so terrible but, at the same time, I lost two Uncles and my health went down the toilet with Blue (I know, that is not funny, I am sorry.) Anyway, please know that we are all with you and we have missed you. I just wanted to say "Welcome Home" and we are glad you are back with us. Sincerely,

Hi all,

here. I have been away again. Dang, I hate it when I disappear like this!

But, I have had a horrible 5 or 6 weeks here. After getting back from the retreat in Ind., I worked with the family trying to do the Benefit BBQ for my cousin who lost everything in a fire on July 24th.

My brother, whom I am his legal guardian, was put in the hospital on Aug.5th thru Aug. 10th, and that really drained me not to say anything about the burning pain and achyness this humidity was causing. Kenny, my brother is mentally and physically challenged from birth.

So I basically was trying to clear some of my mail box out by just sifting thru the junk mail and jokes and just reading a few emails here and there, needless to say I got way behind.

We got thru the Benefit on Aug 23rd, boy was I dead tired for a couple of days then! I even sat down to get thru some of the emails again. And the phone rang!

It was the nursing home. They were sending my brother back to the hospital, this was Aug. 25th, spent 13 hours in ER with him there. Bill and I have been at the hospital ever since then. They transferred him into a Chicago hospital (Northwestern Memorial) for those who might know the area, Thurs. 9/4 and did a ERCP, but were only 50% successful. We will be doing this again in about 3 to 4 weeks, this way it gives the duct a chance to heal and the irritation, inflamation, and infection should be gone.

Anyhow, I am just trying to respond and catch up with long ago emails.

Dawn, I have been reading about you sadness of losing your pet. I'm sorry to hear about your lose. I am terrible when it comes to losing a pet, I can't even talk about it. I sob so bad, it is as bad as losing a family member. Almost 4 years ago my son past away, and 2 days later the kitten my son took in got a hold of my parakeet, "", and I walked around crying cradling my in a paper towel, refusing to just give him up cause with my RSD and everything that was going on, I was afraid he wouldn't get the proper burial. So I am with you on loving those pets and properly burying them, crying and the whole 9 yards. Bless you hunny.

Barb, I love your cats names. We usually have unusual names for our pets here too. My sisters named one of their cats they took in "Cat". Then when they found stray and took in that one "Cat" was mothering it, so they named it Cats Cat.

Lori, Sorry to hear that you were in the hospital. And sure glad to hear you are out! Hope you are doing okay. And I want you to know that we had a great time at the retreat, if you didn't get to read my email about how great I thought it was.

Great job!!

Welcome to Beverly and Beckie. I know I saw some new member emails and I sent some welcomes out but with RSD, our memories seem to fail us sometimes and I don't remember if I said welcome, So if I missed you, please forgive me and welcome.

This is a great group, alot of fun people to know, and eventually meet if you'd like, it does happen from time to time. welcome.....

Nan... You were wondering about different places in the country to live and if it makes living with RSD easier, weather wise??? Well, I would say that from what I hear, yes... But because of my brother and my attachment to my family and grandkids, I seem a little reluctlent to move just now. Bill (hubby) would like to move me away from the Joliet (Chicago) area. The humidity is a killer. If I remember right, you are from Chicago too, right???

, I am so sorry, :-((( I didn't forget your birthday, just everything has gotten past me.... HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY!!!

Sharon and , My god what can I say, except I read your post Sharon and sometimes I just want to cry, for both you and . You are an angel and a saint. I know the pain and aches that I go thru and I can't even imagine going thru what is going thru in addition to RSD. I say prayers for him and you for your strength. You seem to always keep your spirits up, and your post are always possitive. keep your spirits strong and god be with you both..

At last I have gotten to the end of Aug. posts. and only have 251 more to read, but not tonight. I am going to go an celebrate a wedding of a relative that I missed the wedding part of. He got married last night (Friday (9/6) and reception this evening.

Hopefully my brother will be released from the hospital tomorrow and I can finish the posts on Monday. So until then, everyone have a wonderful Sunday.

God Bless You All,

Love,

P.S. Sorry about the book.

Hi , Well I am glad you are back here. It sure sounds like you have had your share of hard times this summer. I hope your brother feels better soon. Please try to take care of yourself. When family members are in the hospital it really drains us with RSD. Glad you are back. Take care and have a good night. Hugs, babs UPDATE FROM BRENDA Hi all, here. I have been away again. Boy do I hear you there . They tried to replace my parakeet, . Well, the replacements didn't and still don't work. sat on my shoulder almost all day. He talk to me. I taught him to talk to me. He would say things like Cubs Win, and silly things like that, he would even share my sandwiches with me at lunch time, he was just my company as Barbara would put it. These birds, well, they bite, they won't talk to me, or let me touch them, they are really messy and I don't enjoy them at all. Maybe if they hadn't gotten 2 , which was an accident it might have been okay, but it didn't happen that way. If someone offered to take them off my hands and I could start all over again with a new young parakeet, I might try again. But never 2 at a time. It's very lonely here with no one but yourself all day long. And I have over done it today trying to catch up on email, my hands are no swollen, my fingers are very numb, and I can't feel my legs and feet anymore......oh poop.....

gotta go..

When I had to get rid of my cat this summer, I thought I would be totally lost....and it was because of the girls that I had to lose him to begin with!

To actually say that I was really and totally pissed off at the girls is putting it mild....because I was totally LIVID! They made him mean, they did not listen to me once about leaving him alone at all. they teased him constantly, tormented him, and would hit him with blankets, clothes, fly swatters and whatever else they could get a hold of, because Sami was scared to death of him, and would use whatever she could get her hands on to smack him with to keep him away from her so that she could get from room to room (even though he'd be like 2 rooms away).

But, Somehow, I ended up with 2 new kittens after my birthday!!!! And, they are both FEMALES instead of MALES! Thankfully, when they are not down in the basement being lazy as can be...they keep me pretty well entertained.

But, since I've also had birds...Parakeets too.....I do understand where you are coming from !! Parakeets to me, are a one person bird, and the ones we had would rather of pecked you and flew off than anything else! They were NOT people birds....and as for how to train them, well, the only thing I knew how to train a bird was how to play dead really REALLY good!

But, to me, Parakeetes are too picky about who touches them, where they "live", what they eat, and how many there are in a cage. They are too jittery, too high Anxiety birds....and are way too easy to kill!

lol, heck, with Crystal and her high pitched screams, that would scare the hell out of any kind of animals, humans included....enough to cause a heart attack!

Good luck ...

Tonia
