Hello and welcome to the group.

Dave is right, you have come to the right place. I was going to refer

you to our Severity assesment chart, but I can't find it now. I am

hoping someone will chime in with 'directions' :-). Even without the

assessment file, if your mommy instincts are telling you his head is

misshappen, it probably is. I was told my daughters head would round

out and I was sent on my way. It took me 4 months and 4 separate

doctors before I got the helmet for Makenna, all the while her head

wasn't rounding out on it's own. With aggressive repositioning,

rounding is possible and we have members who were very successful,

but when I say aggressive, I'm talking 24/7. Perhaps if you get a

chance, you can take a pic of you son's head (standing above him,

hair wet) and post it. We would provide honest opinions.

Just a thought.

Hi and welcome to the group. The severity assessment charts

was referring to can be found in our links section. They have all

three plagio shapes there. Do you have any pictures of your son's

head that you could share with us? Heads do not necessarily round

out and at your son's age agressive repositioning is going to be

very difficult at sleep time. If you are truly concerned you really

should demand a referral from your pediatrican to a neurosurgeon or

craniofacial specialist. Also, where do you live? If you don't

want to go the specialist route, Cranial Technologies offers free

consults and they will give you an honest opinion of whether or not

your won will benefit from a band. Check out www.cranialtech.com to

see if you are near any locations. Let us know what you think after

you check out the severity assessment graphs.

I just wanted to thank everyone for their input. We have to go back

to the ped. in a week for another shot, so I will bring the issue up

once again and will request a referral to a specialist. I looked

at the severity chart and I would say my son falls into the 0 to 1

range. You can't see anything from the front and I have not noticed

any facial changes. Thanks again to everyone for your thoughts. I

will try and post a picture at some point and ask for your opinions

again.
