Guest guest
I need to find (if there is a legal one out there) a new calcium supplement. I have two kids with ASD and my DAN doctor wants them on 1000-1500 mg of calcium twice a day. My Kirkman supplement is 250 mg, so I'm giving each child 8 pills a day. I called Kirkman and that is the only legal one they carry. What does everyone else use? I'm wondering if there is a higher dosage capsule, so I can give fewer a day (and save myself some money). Thanks for any help you can give me. Heidi Mom to Abigail 5yo and Liam 3yo, SCD 3 weeks
Guest guest
Opps! Not calcium! Vitamin C! I'd rather not have to do powder, but will consider it if there is no other way. She did write down the dosage, so I know it's right (I just got the supplement wrong). Sorry about that. I guess I really need to get more sleep. Guest guest
Heidi, I would ask again about the dosage. The RDA of calcium per day is only 800 mg if I remember right. She is recommending 2000-3000 mg a day. Did you have testing that showed a deficiency? The Kirkman powder is legal ( I think-need to recheck the list). You can bake with it. It might be easier to put some in all of your baked goods. That way you could lower the number of pills you need per day. Guest guest
Okay that makes a lot more sense. Do they actually swallow pills or would a powder be okay? Jody mom to -5 and -7 SCD 13 months
Guest guest
Jody, They actually swallow pills and I'd prefer that to a powder. Thanks! Heidi
