Guest guest
Kim, It's good that your friend has someone who is aware of this & can help her. How close is your friendship? I'd tread carefully here. If she's aware of the problem but chooses not to do anything about it she may end up resenting your involvement. Only you can tell if that may happen or not. Maybe show her some pix from this site showing the before & after? She may find some similarities in a few pix & decide to find some help. Good luck! Kathy, mom to 13 mo old DOCBanded at 10 mo a friend who's baby w/ plagio pos brachy Hey guys, I have a close friend who is a nurse, has a baby that is 9 months old. For the past 5 months or so she has been aware that her son has plagio, but her doctor keeps telling her the famous 'it will round out on it's own' thing. Well, I really think he has a brachy head shape.. comparing it with the info that I got from CT, Id say he's pretty severe, too. I talked to her about it, saying that with it this bad, he's not going to be able to round out on his own, especially if she wouldn't repo him. He spent a TON of time in his swing, which I would think led to this... I am going to send information to her doctor (she doesnt know this yet) but any advice on what else I can say to her? I know I can only do so much, but I hate to see someone I am so close to just accept the rounding on it's own thing.. Guest guest
Good for you! I think going behind her back to do anything might damage the friendship. The child is more important, though. What totally convinced me was seeing pictures of other kids, especially the before and after pics from the Cranial Technologies website: www.cranialtech.com There are some startling pics of brachio babies, then lovely ones of them after the DOC band. Good luck!
