Time flies, that date will be here tommorrow before you know it. Gordon
Guest guest
Hi Gordon. I've had no problems at all with the Lipitor so far, as far as I can tell. I really feel no different than before I started taking it. It's a relatively small dose, though. They did monthly blood work last night at dialysis, so we'll see. It's funny, but I don't really think about September in that way. It still feels far off into the future. Pierre ? to Pierre > Hi Pierre: > > How is the Lipitor doing? Guest guest
I always ate that way Gordon. Even as a child, I just didn't like meat, and would refuse to eat most kinds. It was pretty frustrating for my parents, to say the least. The first time I ever heard of a lower protein diet was after my biopsy in 1993, when, while still in the hospital, my nephrologist sent the dietician to see me. They tried to put me on what they called at the time a " controlled protein diet " - another term for a low protein diet. What we found was that most of the time, I was already consuming a fairly low protein diet without even knowing it, and most of it vegetable protein too. It was actually already lower than what the diet called for. Low protein diets for advanced renal failure are one thing, but despite many, many attempts, low protein diets have never really been shown to prevent the development or progression of chronic kidney disease. My case certainly seems to fit in with that picture. It never occurred to me until writing the above that my biopsy was almost exactly 10 years ago to the day - mid-August 1993. Guest guest
Hi Pierre, It's been just about a year for us. The first dreadful pediatrician's visit was 8/13/02. I think I " met " you just about a year ago. I often remember those first few posts on KPG - and what a wonderful voice of reason you were.
