Guest guest
Hi everyone. Sorry if I vent here a little but we just found out that we're going to have to wait two or three more days. This wouldn't be so bad but that will be past Orthomerica's recommendation of fitting within 10 to 14 days. Did anyone else have this problem? Thanks, mom to (21 months old) and (4 months adj. 6 months actual w/ plagio and tort.)
Guest guest
So exactly how long will it be between casting & fitting? is so young, she's growing rapidly, so please keep a close eye on the bands fit whenever you finally receive it. I did go FOUR weeks between my daughter's casting & STAR fitting, she was 7 mos old when casted, 8 mos when rec'd. It was WAY too long to go between casting & fitting. What's the reason for the delay? Where are you going? Sorry!!!!!! Debbie > Hi everyone. Sorry if I vent here a little but we just found out that we're going > to have to wait two or three more days. Guest guest
Hi , Like Debbie said, Bill has a really good reputation. That being said, once the band comes in be really careful observing the fit. Guest guest
, I also had this issue with the Starband. My son was 7 months when cast and when he received it 3 weeks later it was much too small. Therefore, we had to recast. My suggestion is to contact Hicks at Orthomerica. You can email him at ghicks@... or call their 1800 number. He is extremely helpful and got our 2nd band to us in under 1 week (From Denver to Florida), so . . .' Best of luck, Molly Yi Mom to Austin Starband since 5/3/04 > Hi everyone. Guest guest
My son was banded late, at 17 1/2 mos, plus I was from out of state and coming just to get my son banded. The Cranial Tech folks rushed the mold overnight, made the helmet the next day, shipped it back Express, and bing! He was cast on Weds at 2pm and got the DOC Band Friday morning at 8 am. They had me take him to play in the hot sun, then bring him back at 4:30 for a check. He was fine -- not a single red mark --and we made it back for our return flight home by 5:30. All you gotta do is ask.... Might not work for you, and I'm still not sure why the CT folks were so amazingly helpful (not complaining, mind you!) but it's worth asking. They paid for all the express shipping themselves, too. Good luck! , 18 mos, tort, plagio, DOC band On Tue, 25 May 2004 02:19:25 -0000 "mollyyi1974" <mollyyi1974@...> writes: , I also had this issue with the Starband. Guest guest
's helmet took three weeks to come in and by that time his head had changed and the band didn't fit properly. The ear piece was too far back. luckily the orthotist was able to cut it out so that could wear the helmet until the new one came in. The orthotist had to take new measurements and orthomerica sent a new band. did not have to be casted again though. The second helmt fit great though and he's been doing great in it. Guest guest
Thanks for the great update. I am so glad things were rushed for you. Angie and Jenna Re: Re: Upset. Question about Starband. Guest guest
Hello I'm a bit late on my reply. I def agree with all the others that this is a bit long between casting and fitting, but if your ortho is experiences which it sounds like he is then he should be able to get a good fit. Maybe you can hang around longer at the initial fitting to make SURE it is ok. Good luck One more thing my daughter being a preemie herself. According to her measurements (head circumfrance) I found her to grow according to her actual age and not adjusted age. Hope that helped Sandy Willow's Mom Torticollis resolved Cranio Germany Grad 04 > Hi everyone.
