I first read about these in Fran McCollough's (I'm not sure of the

spelling) second book " Living Low Carb. " She said she spent some time

in Italy and took a carb blocker on the trip. I think she was there a

month and only gained four pounds eating bread and pasta. I bought some

by Universal Nutrition/Doctor's Diet. I took them over the New Year

when my dh and I took a road trip out east. I didn't gain any weight

and I cheated at my sister's house. However, I tried them this past

Saturday at a Thai restaurant. I ended up gaining two pounds that are

still with me. Granted, it was the biggest cheat I've had at one

sitting. Maybe I needed to take more than four tablets. I'm still not

sure if they work for me. Maybe I just got lucky on my vacation. One

thing is for sure -- no more Thai food for a very long time!

The ingredients looked similar although not exactly the same. Their

price is much higher. I think it was $19.95 for 30 tablets. How many do

you take at once? I bought mine from netrition.com. The bottle says to

take two tablets at a time. I paid around $40 for 120 tablets.

It's from Universal Nutrition called Doctor's Diet Carb Block. However,

I can't recommend it one way or another.

You know I have heard of things that block carbs. Didn't Dana just mention taking one while on her lowcarbezine cruise? Do you get her newsletter? As Dianne says it is great. Anyway, I too would be interested in what people who have taken these have to say.
