Guest guest
Hi Celeste, Yes it is. At first you will lose a lot cuz your not eating, but after awhile it will slow down once new foods are introduce into your diet. The first 6-8 months is when most of the weight is lost. If I were you I would stay off the scale....It can do you more harm than good. Take care & enjoy the journey! Guest guest
Hi Celeste, I had my surgery almost a year ago on the 18th. You don't always lose pounds, you also lose inches, which don't show up on the scale. Knowing this i still get on the scale everyday and i am often disappointed cause i don't see any change. It can be harmful cause then i think if i not losing i might as well eat what i want, then i pay for it when i do get on the scale cause i then gain weight. But if you are strong enough not to do dumb things like that, i really don't see the harm. I hope this helps you. and congrats on making it to the losing side. Guest guest
Celeste, You are doing fine. That is typical during the first 2 - 3 weeks. I remember watching the scale change between morning and night on the same day. Guest guest
Celeste, What I meant is we have a tendency to weigh ourselves all the time (we want the scale to move) & can do harm for us mentally. Because the scale doesn't always move in our favor.....some days a lot of weight will come off, some others days nothing. Three years ago I got rid of my scale & just weighed at the doctors office. So, just my opinion, for your own peace of mind don't weigh yourself very often. Also if you really think you are losing to fast, then call your doctor. Guest guest
Actually staying off the scale won't do any harm. It is when we are getting on and off about3 - 5 times a day that it can do harm. Even the slightest fluctuation up is disappointing. It almost has the affect of making you temporarily bi-polar...the losses are great, but the slightest bit up is a huge disappointment....been there and stopped that - doing much better now.
