Welcome to the losing side Celeste (and Shay - even if she left the group).

How did everything go and how are you feeling?

The soreness should lessen each day, but if it gets worse - call the dr. Are

you walking and getting in all of your fluids?

10 lbs is a great start, way to go, I am so happy for you ;-)

Welcome . I look forward to sharing this journey with you. It is really

not as bad as it sounds. Yes, it is a major surgery, but it wasn't as bad as I

thought it would be. Just relax and know that you are going to be losing weight

before you know it and feeling great. Best wishes.

Hi Everyone,

I am relatively new to this group thing.. so it may take awhile for me

to get the hang of it.

I am in the process of getting qualified through insurance for the

gastric bypass surgery. Just waiting for an ok . I'm really excited

but also scared. Any suggestions on keeping myself calm?

Glad to have found this group :)

Hi !! Welcome to the group.

If you have any question or anything feel free to jump in anytime. As far as

keeping calm....just try & keep yourself busy, so you won't think about it. I

know it's easier said then done. Try & post some of your fears, what it is you

are scared of?

Take care Barb :)

I cant picture myself either. I understand what you are saying. I think as we

gradually change we will get used to part of it. But it is all good change. It's

going to be great and we deserve it. Here's to you.

Thank you Shauna - I really appreciate the support. I find myself

alternating between total elation and sheer terror. For some

reason, I am super emotional and cry at the smallest thing. I can't

wait to start losing this weight but I am also scared. Is that

crazy? I've never been thin in my life so I have a hard time

picturing myself..

Hey Barb,

My Gosh - what am I NOT scared of... lol. I have always been

the " funny fat friend " , ya know. Humor masks pain as they say. I'm

just afraid that losing weight means losing me(?). A guy friend

once told me never to lose weight because I would end up throwing it

in everyone's faces and becoming a b****. He's totally wrong but I

find that statement coming back to haunt me. Ah - I'm being stupid,

I know. Thank God for my therapist.
