Guest guest
Hello all, I have a question. Here lately I have been having random spells. I start getting hot a little and shaky. I also feel like I am about to faint. I get really dizzy and get a headache. I was walking around Walmart and this happened. I was near the blood pressure machine and my pressure was good. I had check my blood sugar level right after another spell and it was good. So any advice. A lady at Walmart was right beside me during this spell and she told me she did this when her blood was low. Could this be something like this? Somebody help ) Thanks, Christy
Guest guest
Hi Christy, I get that way if I don't eat something (usually protein) every 2 hours. You might try & carry something with you, like jerky, protein bar, nuts, string cheese....something easy & see if that helps you out some. Or if you might want to see your doctor & have them check you out. Either way take care.......Barb Blessedndeed06@... wrote: Hello all, I have a question. Guest guest
it may be low blood sugar, but if you tested and it was fine, then perhaps not. Had you eaten or drank (that grammar sounds awful...let's try it this way...) Did you have anything to eat or drink 20-60 minutes prior to the spell? It may be as simple as hormonal flux as you are losing weight, but if it continues for more than a few days, contact your doctor and let their office help you out. jbbb Blessedndeed06@... wrote: Hello all, I have a question. Guest guest
Hey Christy!! I have these exact symptoms and my blood sugar is low. I know you said you had yours checked but you might try to eat something every 3 hours and see if it helps. Example of what I eat – Breakfast – 2 eggs Snack – ½ a protein bar or a 3 to 4 bites of tuna Lunch – chicken salad on low fat crackers some type of fruit ½ an orange or apple Snack – the other ½ of the protein bar or 3 to 4 bites of left over chicken salad. Dinner what ever I make or my family. I usually have a meat dish with a veggie and fruit. Snack – S/F pudding or something tasty….. LOL I know I shouldn't so close to bed. Try having a small snack; it doesn't have to be a big one. See if it helps. Good luck sweetie!!! Hugs!!! > > Hello all, > I have a question. Here lately I have been having random spells. Guest guest
These spells happen to me to and it was definately low blood sugar. My husband is a diabetic and he has a glucose meter and he has tested my sugar during a spell. My sugar level has dropped as low as 35 which is dangerously low. I immediately eat something high in sugar content..like spoonfuls of sugar or oj if it is available. My spells are triggered by consuming too much sugar..so I have to watch it. My pancreas must spit out too much insulin when I consume lots of sugar and then I end up being weak, blurry vision, sweaty and disoriented. And sometimes these spells just come on for no apparent reason..without even consuming a lot of sugar. I am currently being looked at for hypothyroid..I have many of the symptoms but I have not yet gotten back my test results. good luck Jodi Brown wrote: it may be low blood sugar, but if you tested and it was fine, then perhaps not. Guest guest
This isn't really my expertise, but isn't that a lot like hypoglycemia? I have heard of one of the possible side effects of surgery being hypoglycemia...just curious. Guest guest
I havent had my surgery but have attended sup[port groups and one lady expressed similar syptoms and it was because she was lacking enough protein. You should contact your doctor or surgeon if it was not that long ago that you had the surgery. And if you had the surgery how do you consume a spoonful of sugar? I dunno like I said I have not had this surgery and I know different things trigger different people...that is what tests are for. As for hypothyroidism I have that and my symptoms were increased amount of unexplained weight gain, fatigue, depression, hair loss, bad skin, just to name a few. I am currently on 225mg of levothyroid just to get by the day. Anywho just thought I would do my random post...have a nice day. ~Robin > Hello all, > I have a question.
