Guest guest
Becky, Try to consider your families statements about how it has rounded out to be confirmation that you got the job done. They will understand one day (when I'm sure plagio will become a much more publisized and understood subject since so many children have it now) and they will thank you then (and problaby shudder when they realize how short a timeframe there was to correct the problem and how lucky it was that you seized the day). You are supermom to have been able to give the kind of relentless attention required to have repo success while taking care of two other young children. I honestly don't know how you did it, and I only had one other child when I tried to reposition my daughter for a short time while waiting to get a band. Way to go. Guest guest
Hi Becky looks great, and it is all b/c of you. you have worked sooo hard and now look at her again. ) I think most of our families might think we are obsessive (mine included) My Mom just told me yesterday that she knew everything would be ok. (tort and plagio) nevermind our hard work. They don't understand. You have done a great job, and will be thankful for it. Guest guest
Becky, Is it any wonder that so many parents feel alone during this time? Between our families, and the medical community, there is not a lot of support offered to us " over reacting " moms! Kudos to you for sticking it out, going the extra mile without any positive reinforcement!!! > Hi, I haven't posted in a while. Guest guest
Sorry You haven't gotten more support from your family. It's awesome that you've been able to achieve such great results from repoing. I really don't know how you repoers do it. You've put a lot of time and energy into this and you should be proud of your accomplishment. Even if the rest of the family isn't appreciative, I'm sure will be very happy that you invested the time to reshape her head. Connor (PPO helmet 5/4/04) > Hi, I haven't posted in a while. Guest guest
Great job Becky! You are such a great mom to take the time to repo ! I cannot imagine how hard it must be while you have other children to take care of. I am so proud of you! Natasha > Hi, I haven't posted in a while. Guest guest
Becky, Sorry your family isn't more supportive of your efforts. At least you can take it as a compliment in that they do think it has rounded, regardless of how it got like that . Maybe you should tell your mom that you're dropping off for the next 24 hrs and that she needs to be off her head for that whole time, lol, maybe then you'd get the respect you deserve! , mom to Hannah, DOCband #3 3/30 Cape Cod, Ma > Hi, I haven't posted in a while. Guest guest
Becky, I know how you feel, I didn't get any support from my family at all (except for my husband.) They all just refused to believe what they saw with their own eyes in the first place! I think it was out of love for Remy, though, I think they were deeply afraid that her headshape might never change, so they treated the situation as the desired the world to treat it - as a non-issue, that would never detract from all that was wonderful about her! Now that she's all rounded out really well, they STILL don't acknowledge the agonizing repo efforts that and I went through to get those results for Remy. I mention my involvement here with the group a lot to them, and I just get polite, half-interested replies. Oh well! I just wanted to reply to let you know that I hear ya! Take care, Christie (Mom of Repo'd Remy) > Hi, I haven't posted in a while. Trying to keep the house clean > around a preschooler, toddler and mobile 8-mo-old is a 24 hour a day > job.
