Guest guest
, the only thing you will lose by seeing an acupuncturist is your money. Guest guest
Desperate to lose money or weight. You have to get that hernia seen to and get the band done at the same time. A tummy tuck would not be of any use at the moment. Thanks for the photos. I am not bothered about scarring, I just want to look good in jeans and t-shirt. I have a few scars from a caesarian and the band and they are part of me now. When you get the band done by Prof Obrien, he will do it open for you and give you a new scar. I can understand how scary this is for you though and cannot blame you for your hesitation. Unfortunately I dont think they will do the tummy tuck, hernia and a band at the same time as you will under the anaestetic about a week. Guest guest
Well said , I agree. if it's value for money, or money well spent then the band tops them all. I also went through many sessions without any results at all. I was surely taken for a ride. Can you ask for evidence of cases where the acupuncturist has had success with patients. And if there are any, talk to them first. cheers Gail (Stormy) Re: Acupuncture , the only thing you will lose by seeing an acupuncturist is yourmoney.Regards At 13:38 8/08/2000 +1000, you wrote:>I tried acupuncture a number of times for weight and had no luck. Guest guest
I don't think I believe in it myself (, each session is $33 and medicare pay $22 so money wise it's probably the cheapest thing I have paid for to lose weight. Even if it just helps me to get motivated to loose a few kilos ,as I am not fit enough at the moment for a GA. ( common guy's a little support would be appreciated ) I wasn't planning on having it all done at the same time, first op would be the band and hernia repair ( and yes doing it open and then repairing the scar ) and then at about 80 kilos doing a tummy tuck.( if I get there !! ) gailjenkin wrote: Well said , I agree. if it's value for money, or money well spent then the band tops them all.I also went through many sessions without any results at all. Guest guest
Hi everyone, I'm just lurking on the list, very undecided what to do about my absurd weight. So am in no position to comment on anything about the band. , while acupuncture is unlikely to fix your or my weight problems (they are more complex than that), I believe (and have experienced) a great improvement in health through acupuncture. For example, I have had tooth aches fixed through acupuncture, increase in energy, reduction of various pains, colds go away. Most of my extended family visit acupuncturists for "tune ups" - it's always a "100,000 km service" for me.. I think to ignore the health benefits of such a widely accepted health practice may be overlooking something that could increase the success of your next operation, perhaps help stimulate your metabolism and a general reenergising of your body. If I was ever to have the band I would spend a lot of time with an acupuncturist before the surgery!!! Good luck everybody out there. I so admire your bravery, and maybe even your honesty, in having the surgery done. Belinda Re: Acupuncture , the only thing you will lose by seeing an acupuncturist is your money. Guest guest
Belinda, If youd like to answer...i have a question...what is preventing you from having the surgery?....is it the price, thought of being hacked open (i have such a way with words), or a belief that if anyone wants to lose weight bad enough they should be able to do it " naturally " ...i'm just curious...i know ive had all these thoughts over the last couple of years... good luck with whatever you choose.
