Guest guest
I wore their gowns. For the first day or two, you won't care and it'll be much easier (and they do the laundry!!) HA HA Just don't take too much. Somebody can bring you clothes to wear home. You'll be busy sleeping, walking, and talking to the others who are going through this. Guest guest
I will be in there 3 days. Thanks for the info of the pillow. I didn't think of that. Did you wear their gowns or did you buy any. Tina
Guest guest
I wore some T-Shirt night gowns from Lands' End - so soft cotton, they have long ones and knee length - I ordered three and that's what I wore for the first week, they great fabric and give easily and don't bind anywhere - no one can even tell you're not wearing panties with them. They had me up and walking within 3 hours after I got out of surgery and there was no way I was walking around the hospital halls in one of those ugly patterned gowns. I'd suggest looking at Landsends.com . ALso, my best friend in the whole world gave me a tiara and I wore it into surgery and every time I walked that halls. It gave everyone a laugh - I figured I " d be a patient with a little flare - definite conversation piece with all the doctors. Grab a cheap tiara at Target and take it withyou - you'll be unforgetable! JILL BIRMINGHAM, AL Katina wrote: I will be in there 3 days. Thanks for the info of the pillow. I didn't think of that. Guest guest
Yes, it was so much fun. It's a proven fact you put a tiara on your head - you feel like a princess. Plus all the walking up and down the halls give you time to practice your wave...elbow, elbow, wrist, wrist....very simple! I made friends with all my nurses and promised I'd come back and show them my success....I told them they'd recognize me by the tiara! Good Luck - you'll do great - I'm only 2 months out and it is truly the best thing I've ever done in my life! Another idea ( from my oh so wonderful therapist!) get a 36 exp. disposable camera have someone take a photo of you the day after your surgery. Then on that same day for 35 more weeks have someone take a photo of you. When you get them developed you have a picture of each of the 36 weeks after surgery and you can flip through them and really see the weight change. She said choose disposable so you don't look at the photos and get discouraged during the process. I'm on week 9 right now!
