Guest guest
What should I bring with me to the hospital? This will be covered in pre-operative communications with your bariatric center. Some general guidelines are to wear clothes that are easy to put on and take off, especially your going home outfit. Keep it VERY simple. Other ideas: reading and writing materials phone numbers you may need crossword and other puzzles personal toiletries glasses and/or contact lenses bathrobe slip on shoes with bottom grip NO VALUABLES! Guest guest
In addition to the prior list I brought with me a: * " sleeping mask " ( you know the kind that covers your eyes. ) *Good smelling lotion/ and spray *Facial wipes *Summer's Eves Femine wipes *a small blanket ( like a baby blanket) * loose fitting pjs ( I felt better in mine then that tent they give you at the hosp...they made me feel more " normal " not like i was in the hosp.) I napped, and walked and groomed. Since I couldn't take a shower, I think I brushed my teeth and put on nice smelling lotion ALOT. lol. I was outta it, but it semed to keep me occupied. I also asked the nurse to get me a Heating Pad. It seemed to help relax my stomach area muscels and made me sleepy. I hope this helps:).( just so you know I had no real pain... it just felt like some one had thrown a basket ball at my left side. I was plesantly surprised at how little pain, but I kept presseing my PCA though:p. I thought the doc had not done the opperation and had just places 5 lil' bandages on my tummy ( i had lap ryn) hahaha) see you on the loosing side! aloha, Suzanne
Guest guest
that's too funny...I asked the doctor if he was sure he had operated too b/c I was feeling so good. That's too funny! I asked my doctor if he was going to take my gall bladder out - he said he'd look at it and if it looked healthy he'd leave it in. I said - well, if you remove it - can I have it? I mean it's mine! He said something about pathology blah blah blah, but promised if he removed it he'd take a picture. Well, I have just the cutest little gall bladder in the world and nothing's wrong with it so he left it in, but even better...he took a picture of my insides for me while he was in there, you can see my liver, my gall bladder, and my intestines. So, you can ask you doctor to take one if you want one - I think it's the neatest picture, I have it in my desk drawer and show everyone. I stopped just shy of putting it on my Christmas cards! pink_sugar_girlie wrote: In addition to the prior list I brought with me a: * " sleeping mask " ( you know the kind that covers your eyes. ) *Good smelling lotion/ and spray *Facial wipes *Summer's Eves Femine wipes *a small blanket ( like a baby blanket) * loose fitting pjs ( I felt better in mine then that tent they give you at the hosp...they made me feel more " normal " not like i was in the hosp.)
