Guest guest
Wow! I had no idea there was a connection! Brad's head is huge.. way off the charts. Of course his height and weight are both in the 97th percentile, so he's big all around. I want to say his head measured over 50cm at his 9 month checkup, if I remember correctly. Interesting! -, mom to 9 month old Brad, DOC 2/26/04 Chicago
Guest guest
, That's so funny cause I asked the VERY same question today to my clinician. My son's head is only in the 75th percentile (95th in height and weight), but I'm sure some of that has alot to do with his brachy shape when they measure. She said although there is no exact study on it, the consensus is yes, large heads do seem to get plagio or more susecptible to conditions inviting plagio. Maybe not just a theory! Guest guest
Hi & welcome to the group: There's a Poll asking about head circumference in our group: Plagiocephaly/polls It's the 6th question listed I think. It's always good to get a 2nd opinion on things like this! Where abouts do you live? Debbie MI --- In Plagiocephaly , " shannlow04 " <shannlow04@y...> wrote: > Hello. Guest guest
, My son as well as a huge head. It is above 100 percent on the growth chart (so is his length and weight). I believe it may be common esp w/ those with torticollis. There is a theory that a big baby runs out of room in the womb and maybe his head is smooshed up to one side not allowing the muscle on one side of the neck to lengthen therefore developing torticollis. And since plagio and tort often go hand in hand well there you go. Interesting huh? Guest guest
My Hannah also has a big noggin that has at times measure off the charts, despite her being in only the 10th percentile for height and weight. It was in the 75% at birth, but has steadily grown! , mom to Hannah, DOCband #3 3/30 Cape Cod, Ma --- In Plagiocephaly , " shannlow04 " <shannlow04@y...> wrote: > Hello.
