Guest guest
I was wondering if anyone has had the side effect from thyroid meds of post-nasal drip or a mucousy feeling in the throat. I seem to have had that side-effect the whole time I've been on the meds. I have tried to see if that is a sign of hyperthyroidism and I don't see it anywhere as a sign of that; in fact I've seen it described as a symptom of hypo rather than hyper, but still...got to admit I am a bit worried... Has anyone else had this happen to them? If so,did it mean anything important? Thanks, Gentle

The other thing is that when I dissolve the thyroid meds, I always have a coating in my mouth and throat, despite drinking lots of wter every day...could this be making the problem seem more obvious or something?? It could be so many things, but I don't think something to worry about.
Guest guest
Thanks, ! It's nice to have reassurance that this isn't necessarily a sign of hyperthyroidism or something. I have a theory - no proof - that my mucous producing glands in my body are " waking up " so to speak now that they are getting enough thyroid and that may account for it. I have noticed that my eyes are not as dry, my nose/throat is not dry anymore (in fact too moist with the mucous), my bladder is feeling much much better (with IC the mucous layer is disturbed in the bladder and there are actually mucous-producing cells inside the bladder that have a role in shielding the bladder from the harmful effects of urine), and my...ahem...female parts also seem to be what they ought to be and not so dry anymore. It's almost as if my mucous glands went from being on strike for many years to wanting to make up for lost time. I'll bet that I will soon reach a happy balance when my body gets more used to finally having enough thyroid to function. Gentle
Guest guest
I have had post nasal drip for as long as I can remember. Since being on armour, I now get a streaming nose every now and again. Only one nostril streams, like a cold but it's not a cold, more like an allergic reaction to something. I like to think that the armour is clearing something out but I don't know whether that is true or not - lol Lynda > I was wondering if anyone has had the side effect from thyroid meds > of post-nasal drip or a mucousy feeling in the throat. Guest guest
Thanks Lynda! Looks like natural thyroid wakes up our sinuses sometimes or something! Gentle
