Is there anyway you could see a dermatologist for this problem? I really can't say anything about this. What kind of alcohol do you use to clean the helmet? Could it have been a reaction to the alcohol? Our doc told us that when the kids react to the alcohol their sking gets beat read and it almost is like a sunburn. Please keep us up on what you do. Our ortho said if Nate had any rash or dry patches to wash his skin when we take the helmet off for his " off time " , apply the Elidel and wait the hour. Wash that spot, make sure the skin is dry, and then put the helmet back on. We already have Elidel on hand as Nate had a spot of contact eczema on his cheek (we think it was a reaction to my mother-in-law's dog!) and it's amazing how quick it treats the eczema.
