" Crunch Toonz " were distributed by Poores Brothers, and have been

discontinued. They were a potato based snack, that came in the

following shapes: Tweety Bird, Bugs Bunny, Tazmanian Devil. They

were pretty good, and the Tweety Bird ones highly resembled

a " goldfish " cracker. Those 3 crunch toonz I mentioned were gluten-

free.

true? Cocoa Pebbles are OK to eat also? Any other " regular "

cereals in the grocery store GF?

looked for them in my local grocery stores (Walmart & Kroger). I

haven't seen them. Are they chips, crackers or what?

brand of Turkey and also Ham? Relatives hosting holiday parties are

already asking me!

Crunch Toons make me do the " gluten free dance. " Did you do the

dance when you found them????

Unfortunately, Poore's Brothers (the distributor of them)

discontinued them sometime in late summer of 2004.

Maybe we could start a capaign and petition them that many SillyYaks

(especially SillyYaks moms) would love for them to begin making them

again. (It had something to do with the products not being

profitable for them, and since they were part of a deal with " looney

tunes/Warner Brothers " .... that meant that WB also had to get their

cut of the profits for use of the cartoon logo & character mold of

the " potato puff. " ) I suspect that if the manufacturer and WB

didn't have to split profits, etc... then perhaps such a product

would have been profitable and would still be in production. But,

that's just my .02 worth.

This actually sounds like good news! I hope the new product is still

gf. I don't care that they aren't shaped like Looney Toons, as long as

the kids can occasionally have a " shaped " snack food. They miss the

goldfish crackers, so we loved the Crunch Toons when we could find

them. We'll all have to be on the lookout for their new product this

summer! :-)

God bless,

Now, let's all do the gluten-free dance together in unison.... it's

kind of like a combination of the macarena, the charleston,

the " Elaine dance " from Seinfeld, and a little bit of Shag.... I

can't wait for these new " shapes " to appear as well. I don't care

what the shapes are... it's just exciting that there may be another

alternative on the horizon for everyone. Woo Woo! Woo Woo!
