Guest guest
Hey Kay! How was the quick trip to Brisbane? You missed the Asian karryoke(sp?) that we were subjected to when we had dinner with Cath, but the food was great! It is amazing, though, just how many really painful ballads that you can listen to within a couple of hours! And there were some truly awful singers there too! We will have to go there again soon just so you and Esther and anybody else who wants to can relive the experience! It was truly a night to remember! Warm Regards, of the Cakes
Guest guest
I am sorry I missed it, I have to go to Brisbane almost weekly now which is a bit of a drag. The Brisbanders always have their meetings on a Saturday so I'm never up for a meeting, but I find it hard enough these days to get to the Melbourne meetings> Did you guys get up and sing? Guest guest
Kay- Actually I casually mentioned to Nadia and Cath that the only thing that would have made the evening absolutely perfect was the three of us getting up and singing a song ourselves. However, the restaurant was mostly taken over by a function, so we did not want to intrude *grin*!! We decided that we definitely were not singers, but then again none of the others were either, so we would have fit right in. I hope you can make the next meeting! If not, we may have to make other arrangements--sometimes the meetings seem way too far apart for me. Warm Regards, of the Cakes
Guest guest
Cath I am in Brisbane every two or three weeks, but never mention it as your meetings are always on Saturdays and I usually fly back Friday night. I'll let you know next time I am up (probably in a fortnight) Kay Kay Hey there Kay, Sorry you are having a hard time of it all recently. I know how you feel. I was devastated earlier in the year as the weight starting coming back on. Somehow I have got to a point where I seem to be able to maintain and still eat anything. I thought I had gained 2 KG this week but it seems to have gone again, but when I thought I had I figured I was on the down hill slide again. It is an awful place to be. I guess I was luckier than most with my initial band as I could always seem to get some fish into me which always made it look like I was eating something. Mind you, I made quite a few trips to the loo too. I went out to lunch today, ate the fish and left the salad and chips. What a waste. I am going to a pool party on Sunday and will be getting those bathers out of the cupboard. Time to be proud of what we have achieved even if it isn't the goal we perceived at the beginning. I hope your spirits rise soon. By the way, we Brisbanites are always looking for excuses for in between meetings. So if you are ever in town and feel like catching up, let me know. Regards, Cath
Guest guest
Hey, Kay - Just read this mail. Cath is right - We are always looking for an excuse to meet and talk. I'd love to be in on any meet you plan with Cath - let us know. Would love to see you. You always send such interesting mails. Bear with it - I've only lost 2 kg in the last nine months and am having lots of problems with the band. But I'm not giving up - just regarding it as one more hiccup along the way. It will work, it's got to work. You and I both know that our losses will not be in vain. I'm damned if I am going to let all this go to pot after the last three plus years of living on slurps - And think of what you've gone through too. Keep on it .........
