Guest guest
Hi we are having trouble trying to think of how to decorate our son's Doc Band. We can't decide whether to use stickers or paint. Does anyone one have any pros/cons of each? If you use stickers - what kind do you buy? Do they all just peel off easily so you can change them often or do you need to buy a certain kind. If you use paint, does it scratch off? Can you take the paint off to repaint? Thanks!
Guest guest
Hi , Have you read the Decorating Ideas instruction sheets in the FILES section of the group? They are at Files > Decorating Tips folder if you want to give them a read. I don't have any personal experience since we used aggressive repo only for our daughter Remy, but I'm sure you'll get lots of other replies! Take care, Christie (Mom to Repo'd Remy) > Hi we are having trouble trying to think of how to decorate our > son's Doc Band. > We can't decide whether to use stickers or paint. Guest guest
We have a Clarren Helmet, so I'm not sure if it's the same material or not. I assume it is, but you never know. We have had our son's helmet for a little over 3 weeks and we put some firetruck stickers on that we had. Nothing special! The orthotist told us that if we wanted to paint it that you had to first put modge podge (?) on it and then paint it. Stickers come off easily and you can change them as often as you want to. We haven't actually changed them or had any trouble with them! I think his pictures are in the " " folder in Photos if you'd like to see him! -Steph > Hi we are having trouble trying to think of how to decorate our > son's Doc Band. > We can't decide whether to use stickers or paint. Guest guest
Hi We were orginally going to paint Jaxson's helmet but his ortho said no. We were devastated, had such a good idea to do on it... ugh. ANYWAY, since we couldn't do that, I went with stickers. And I go NUTS with them. :) I am at the store, usually a scrapbooking store, EVERY week, sometimes 2 times a week. I have changed his helmet since the start on Dec 4th every 3 days, sometimes more often than that. I do theme helmets, such as today it is decorated in a camping theme - has a tent with feet sticking out, a campfire with roasting mashmellows, hikers, bear and moose.. he's had an Army theme, couple different hockey ones, fire trucks, bugs... Stickerpotumus is probably the best brand I have found so far. But, for the most part, use any stickers if you go that route. Some do not stick very well... I spend quite a bit on the stickers, about $25 a week. They can peel off pretty easy, and if not, if you use alcohol on the left over junk they come off. Our sticker theme has went over great at the clinic, they had me bring in an album of his designs to show other parents (I take pictures of every design, you can see a few in his photos, Jaxson). Happy Decorating!! Guest guest
Hi , We did both. We painted DOC band #1. We started with paint on #2 and them switched to stickers. I had a lot of fun with both. Here are the links to the decorating tips ... http://f6.grp.fs.com/v1/kGhOQFh1iddSXNC5HKeEIV0BDGbbBNZNi- oF518bsinqp3ZFJec5q00EjXs6u26fOYZ_w7gocTAI3YRBxp2eox5hE9H5/Decorating% 20Tips%20/Decorating%20Tips.htm It's a long link so you'll have to copy and paste in pieces. I will say the stickers were much easier and faster. I too changed the stickers every week. I didn't put a sealer over the stickers. They lasted about a week and she is very active. I went sticker happy with barely any white showing. You can see na's painted bands in her folder. To see pics of some of her sticker themes follow this link to our webpage. www.thefilyaws.com or her plagio photo album http://www.thefilyaws.com/Album%20to%20publish/DOCcalendar.html Most important have fun. You;ve got enough other things to worry about. mom to na DOC Grad 2/20/04 > Hi we are having trouble trying to think of how to decorate our > son's Doc Band. > We can't decide whether to use stickers or paint.
