Kate- I am so sorry that you are having such a hard time of it. My understanding of the insulin resistance problem is that your body is fighting to hold on to every ounce, so you have to work that much harder to get it off. Are you exercising at all? That is going to be absolutely necessary for you to help stabilize your insulin levels as well as to burn calories. If at all possible, try to get in a couple of 30-45 minute walking sessions per day and that will really help to keep things under control. I hope things will improve for you soon. Please do not feel frustrated about this whole band thing-- until you get the insulin concerns under control, it will be difficult. I hope being aware of the problem and that it is NOT you, will be of some comfort. Please keep posting--we are happy to listen and to offer any help that we can. You might want to try and locate a diabetes site on the net too--that may help in educating yourself on what is happening with your system and being informed is always helpful. Keep your chin up! Warm Regards, of the Cakes
