Guest guest
Our daughter was born with the vaccuum and she came out with the worst misshaped head. She also had some flattening in utero. The nurse told us the next day after it went down a little bit that she was pretty worried about the look of her head and was relieved it went down a bit. She also has tort most likely from the broken collar bone at birth. Best of luck! tracy.
Guest guest
Does anyone know if there is a link between forcep deliveries and plagio/tort? In our case, I say no (our daughter's head didn't look different to me at birth, but then again, that epidural may have affected my memory in those early moments!!), but my husband swears that was the beginning of it. Just wondering if anyone out there knows of a link... I also wanted to say a HUGE thank you to everyone for advice on the 2nd helmet. I was able to go for the adjustment yesterday well- informed, asking good questions, and was very satisfied with the answers given to me by the ortho. We have decided it's in Caitlín's best interest to proceed with DOC band #2 and will hopefully be re- molded next week pending insurance's go-ahead. AND I think our new insurance company will pay (2 for 2...how blessed are we?!)....it sounds good so far anyway, so keep your fingers crossed for us!! A huge thanks again to all.... mommy to Caitlín DOC Band #1: 12-03 to current; #2 pending Houston
Guest guest
I think there is a link due to the fact the mishapen head can occur as a result of a small pelvis or malpresentation... both reasons for use of forceps. I dont think forceps is the cause but a symptom. I have plagio and I was a forceps delivery. forceps link? Does anyone know if there is a link between forcep deliveries and plagio/tort? Guest guest
I had a C-Section....I thought I was lucky that Matt was going to have a nice little round head. It started off nice and round, but little did I know, 6 weeks later, he had already developed Plagio. I think he had tort from constriction in utero....he was a bit baby. and (DOCgrad 13-feb-04/10-14mos./PA) dscollins01 <dscollins01@...> wrote: Does anyone know if there is a link between forcep deliveries and plagio/tort?
