Guest guest
Chuck and Kara, Hi, I have a concern that I wanted to voice to you all at the head office if you don't mind. I was concerned about the date that you all have or seem to have chosen for the conference times. Here is my concern. For most schools that is right at graduation time or the ending of the school year. For those of us who are teachers, and there are several of us especially on the adult list and the Mito list, this poses a great problem. This is the worst time for us to try and leave our jobs. Now I know that there is no way that you can accommodate all jobs and circumstances, but I wondered if you all had considered it for the families as well as this is a very high IEP time at the schools to get the children set for their following school year as well. And if you happen to be like us for the next 6 years we have nieces and nephews who will be graduating on this very weekend. As a working Mito Mom and patient, who has to leave her job a lot, which are many of us, to try and leave at the busiest time of the year is just not realistic. Would you all discuss this and see if this is a big enough issue to consider changing to a not so busy time of the year for families and also to a time of year that is not so hot. My suggestion would be in April sometime or even early May, as some schools are even out in that last week in May. How about October before it is too cool and it is not so hot. The heat as well as the damp cold on some Mito people is life threatening. I thank you for your time and consideration of this issue, Working with you to find a Cure for Mitochondrial Disease, Ortiz
