we just got home she said he isnt gonna outgrow his band for aw hile so tha tis comforting she said most change and adjustments are the first 3-4wks

so i am releived to know that, she said his forehead is mostly red due to very senstive skin soo she did a small adjustment there but had to trim around his right ear where is ws rubbing his ear, we are out of the band today, were applying cream to his forehead, the rear part and around his ears were its chaffing then were to do that a few times today, put the band back on around 5pm and check a little bit later if his red spots look better then he can sleep in it , if not were to page her in the morning , his whole head looks icky though he has what looks to me like mild eczema on his scalp i changed shampoos i ran out of paul mitchell baby and used what i use on the other kids the loreal kids stuff i dont know if tha tis why his scapl is soo rashy , i am gonna go get him some more baby shampoo i did put eczema cream on his head now his hair is all icky looking but maybe it will help, i am gonna wash his hair tonight

normally i wash his hair every other night but since he had teh band i aws washing it every night i think that is part of the cause of his skin problems, its soo dry here and he normally takes a daily bath but i didnt wash his hair that much so can you not wash their hair everyday or do you have to and i just have to fine something else to treat his dry scalp?

What'd your ortho say today?> grr corbyns head is awful they took alot out f his band in two places so much i dont think he will be in it much longer some parts have almost no foam left he has only had is 3wks now, > but when i took it off him this afternoon his forehead was bright pink again and he had pinkness around his neck, and back of his ears as well as the same pink spot in the back but it faded pretty good, so i guess we wil be keeping his 10 am apt tomorrow they said to keep it incase we still needed more adjusting so we didnt cancel it, i think he wont be in his band much longer and i am shocked considering he is 8mos, anyone had rapid grwoth early on and then it slow , or will he continue to grow this fast > i dont think he should have a second band but gosh i want him to get the most out of this one i suppose we willj ust have to be happy with how it is > hillyFor more plagio info

Hi Hilly,

Hydrocortisone ointment or cream (I use the ointment), can really help with eczema and/or heat rash. When Matt had terrible eczema when he was between 2-6 months before getting his band, and Hydrocortisone was the only thing that worked on getting it cleared up. We even put some on his scalp directly. Talk to your ped about this if you think it is eczema.

When Matt first started wearing his band he would get a bit of a heat rash and we again tried the Hydrocortisone ointment. It cleared it up right away. Just be sure to work it in well before putting the band back on.

thanks yah his head is rashy even where the band isnt but its worse where the band is touching his head directly which out the hair , like around his neck, and behind his ears and his forehead jsut two days ago he was fine so i dont know if its the new shampoo or the fact his skin is just too senstive to wash his hair everyday, i didnt want him to get like stinky head or something so i dont know if i should stop washing his hair everyday i wish i had asked the ortho while i was there she said not to change his shampoo and had we not ran out i wouldnt have but the salon was closed when i realized we were out of shampoo for him so i just used the kids stuff maybe its both who knows hee hee
