There is not a cure as such but b.c. is removable, treatable, and we

can live knowing that it probably won't come back to the same spot.

However, whatever caused it on one side could cause it on the other if

not taken care of, in other words, if we don't take the medicines we

are given such as tamoxifen to prevernt futher recurrence. Also if we

don't have chemo or radiation if they were indicated. I am a five 1/2

year survivor and although the doctors don't say " cured " they do say,

it is gone. The Komen Foundation is proably the world's largest

group to fight breast cancer and they say, " When a cure for b. cancer

is found, we will find another cause that we need a cure for. " in the

meantime, the S. G. Komen mission is to " eradicate breast cancer as a

life threatening disease through research, education, screening and

treatment. " Or as we frequently say at our meetings, " We won't REST

(Research, Ed.,Screening, Treatment) until there is a cure! " Doris

There currently is not a cure for breast cancer but it is manageable in most cases.
