Guest guest
Sorry Lee, I can't help you. I had private cover, although I think from memory was self funded and from memory it cost her approx. $8-9,000. How disappointing for you. You will just have to have a plan of counter attack. Esther. Guest guest
I've heard between $8,000 - $12,000 if you pay for it yourself... does anyone have any more accurate numbers ? I'm with Aust Unity, and my expenses are still $3,000, even with their top level of cover. I joined Aust Unity on Jan 11 2000, and there was absolutely no way they were going to cover me until after my 12 months was up (I'm booked in for 15th Jan, clear by 4 days Prof O'Brien told me that he has never been able to get the health funds to bend on this rule, even in the most serious of cases. Good luck ! Leanne > HEY! ANYONE KNOW WHAT THE COST IS OUT OF POCKET WITHOUT PRIVATE COVER???? MY > BLOODY PRIVATE HEALTH IS PLAYING GAMES! OR THE WAITING PERIOD? Guest guest
If you are uninsured the cost is about $8,500. If you get insurance, there is a 12 month waiting period for elective surgery. Depending on what cover you are on, depends on what you get back. Top hospital cover - you should only be out of pocket $1,000 - $1,500. At 04:02 AM 4/01/01 -0000, you wrote: >HEY! Guest guest
Don't forget to claim on your tax return as well. I claimed 20% of anything I spent on medical stuff after a $1000 threshhold.
