Iam facing possible cholangiocarcinoma myself..my ERCP photos didnt

look good this time around.

Andi,

As other have said, this could be wrong. Twice I've been faced with what the docs said was CC but both times they were WRONG! :) The first time were the brushings from an ERCP which the lab kept reading as possible adenocarcinoma. My doctor didn't believe it and decided to have me take a few weeks of antibiotics believing what they were really seeing was infection. And it was infection. Apparently the lab has great difficulty telling the difference between cancer and infection. Scary to say the least.

The other time was an MRI which said there was a tumor in a duct. My hep and the other doctors at my center (MRI wasn't done at my center) said nope, that is your duct. It is funny now but it wasn't at the time. So hang in there and don't give up.

Blessings,

.... or it could be nothing. Radiographs are notoriously difficult to read

for the untrained, myself included. I know an engineer who was adamant

about a radiograph that clearly (to him) showed a flaw in a pipe weld. The

specialist not only showed him he was wrong, but pointed out a manufacturing

flaw in the pipe that he missed!

I hope its nothing. Maureen knows what the steroids do to your

thinking and on top the Cipro Iam taking causes terrible nightmares.

Everything from the past dredged up. My fears, regrets...

I cant say that I dont cry, I do. Becuase Iam so heartbroken by the

deaths in our group and everyones suffering.

Andi, I can't tell you how many times they have thought they saw the

worse in my photos over the years. One time this radiologist got so

excited and said it had metasticized throughout my liver! It was air

he was looking at; air in the biliary ducts from having the scopes

and the surgeries. The radiologist guys that read these tests see

them so infrequently; it got to be a joke between my Dr and I. I am

sorry that you are having to deal with it; I know how the wait is and

will think about you.
