Hi All,

Welcome to this family, as the most know, my name is Leen, and my

spouse has been diagnosted with RSD, last month after asking for

years, without a conformation of the most dr.

We live on the MD lower shore, and at this moment the humidity is

high, my wife notice an increase in pain, of het shoulderblade and

radiation to her left leg and arm.

My question, do one of you have this same experience with humidity??

We came from a high altitude 4000 Ft, with a low humidity, arount 15-

30%, for reasen of the lower altitute would be easier on her

brainstem insury, but we are thinking to return back to TX.

Any comments would be welcome.

Great that some of our family found the correct dr. but i find the

amound of med a little high, special if you have to use them for a

long time, thinking on kidney problems. Keep an eye on this.

All have a great day, enjoy the painfree moments.

Leen.

Leen,

Thanks for the warning about the Kidneys! I'll remember that one for sure! I always remember the liver......because of the Tylenol...but the kidneys are one of the Organs I seem to forget!

As for the Humidity.......I hate it when the humidity goes up.....and I really hate it when it yo-yo's around here.

According to my Psychiatrist, ever since Feb., the barometer has been going crazy.....which hasn't been good for us. Its been making our pain go just as crazy......we can wake up in hell, be fine in the afternoon.....but come evening, watch out! or, morning and afternoon is hell, but evening is great.

I'm guessing that no matter where you live, The humidity is going to be Hell on your wife.

Have you thought about buying a DeHumidifier or two for your house? My mother and grandmother both suffer from arthritis.....my grandmother's is pretty bad. If it wasn't for their De-Humidifier's....my grandmother wouldn't be able to breathe, and neither her's nor my mother's fingers, would be able to bend. My grandmother really wouldn't be able to move that well either.......and she is 77 years old.

They swear by those machines.......They keep the air nice and humidity free. Even I can walk into their houses and immediately tell the difference in the air.

I know they are somewhat expensive.....for the good ones.......but they are alot cheaper than moving half way across country!

Tonia

Hi Leen, Yes high humidity does make the RSD pain for most of us alot

worse.

I live in PA and the humidity here is really high right now too. But I

have to tell you that I know people who live in places with less

humidity and still have problems too.

So it is really hard to say where is the best place for RSDers to live.

There are so many things that affect RSD it would be really hard to

eliminate all of them.

I don't know how it is in land but hee in PA the humidity tends to

go up and down. This summer the humidity has beenreally bad

unfortunately. Please tell your wife that she is in my prayers. Take

care

Hugs,

Hi Tonia, I have to say that list of meds is pretty heavy. Be careful

with the Percoset for sure. Very hard on the kidneys and liver. I used

to take percoset for many years but can't take it anymore.

That drug can be really wicked on your internal organs. So be careful.

I do have another suggestion, I hope you don't mind. I have just

learned this from experience. When a whole lot of meds are added it is

best to only try one or two at a time. I say this because if you take

all those meds right from the start if you have any problems you won't

know which one is causing them. Also not every pain med works the same

for everyone. It is kind of a trial and error until you find the right

one and the right dosage. I hope you don't mind me telling you this. I

just don't want you to run into any problems with the meds. Take care

andhave a good night.

Hugs,

babs

Hi Tonia,

and others :)

Thanks for the input, I have already some de-humidifiers running, and

about the weather forcast, this is known. Did you have also the

problem as the phone rings, she get sometimes a shock, in the

beginning, I looked at her and shaked my head, being a electronic

eng, and bio-med. this was not possible, but it is possible. The

nerve system can be set so high tuned, like MAX. sensitivity, that

the skin can sense light. I have prove this to some neuro dr.

I think, we will end up again in TX, a little lower altitude as El

Paso, 4000 FT, but a much more stable barometic area.

Good night all.

Leen.
