Guest guest
Pierre, Your line about not taking stuff triggered an issue I've been meaning to raise... I walk an uneasy path between trying to let be commissar of his own meds/BP and dealing with it myself. I figure the more he does it himself, the less adolscent pushback I'll get. However, this approach doesn't always work, and I find myself nagging when he doesn't take them. This summer he's going to be living at the theater - and our solution is that he will take them and call me on my cell afterwards. Still, I know I miss giving him pills periodically. On several occasions, I've found the stray blue lisinopril wedged in the corner of the pill container... If I screw up with my best intentions, I know he will because he's because he's so damn cavalier about it all. I know this is more about adolescence/child-rearing than IgAN or kidney disease... I guess my question is what motivates (or demotivates " ) one not to take one's meds? I keep thinking that if I have a better understanding of this it might help. Your renal dietician reminds me of an old teacher of 's. It was not for naught that the kids and parents alike called her General Schwartzkoff.
