I switched to generic because it saved me a ton. I've only noticed that I need

just a little more of the generic than the real thing. I would say about 30 mgs

more. But that is a drop in the bucket to what I am saving. I was paying 55 -

60 bux a month to have my armour. (at 300 mgs) I am now on 390 and paying about

24 for a 3 month period. (I said 6 month period once before and I was

mistaken...it is only a three month amount.) This was done at Sams Club, where

the pharmacist really worked hard to get me my best deal. I am not sure how

much you'll save, but it will be worth it. If I had prescription though..I'd

definately be on the real Armour. Number one it tastes Soooo much better than

the generic.

Is Armour generic just as good?

Just wondering if I should opt to save a lot of money on getting Armour

generic or whether is is best to stick with the name brand?

Thanks, Dana

Don't you also need a prescription for the generic Armour PattieSue? I'd

like to substitute half my dose with a generic...the mexican source sounds ok

but nobody here knows much about united research laboratories who is supposed to

be making this stuff. It is frusterating I know. Every google search I do on

armour takes me to a web page that leads back to myrxforless.com which is

52.00 for 100 tabs of 2 grain. they've got the whole internet locked up with

their foreign pharmacy it seems.

Warm Regards,

Loriann

Yes, I have to have a prescription for the generic also. I think that by the

way I worded myself I may have confused you. What I meant was.... " If I had

prescription coverage " I'd get armour.

Do you have a script for your thyroid meds? If so...you can always tell them

generic..to save money.

Hi PattieSue,

Oh! I see what you are saying! I found out that I could save a bunch if I

bought a years worth of armour and so the pharmacist called the dr. for me and

he said ok! I said ok this is very cool. then when I got my 1 year

prescription of Armour filled from kroger they put on my receipt that if I

bought the

generic I would have saved 55.40! My prescription only cost me 89.00 to begin

with....so I asked the pharmacist about this and he called my dr. for me and

asked if I could have the generic instead and the dr. said no, because the usp

standard wasn't as good as armour! I asked the pharmacist what was the name of

the generic and he said that it was made by Western research! So....then I

got online and went a huntin' found the nutri-med site and then you guys and the

rest is history! So now I'm hoping the stuff I get from mexico will be like

armour only less potent...not really sure..taking a bit of a gamble.

Hugs to you too!,

Loriann
