When Spring comes every year it is like a rebirth and makes on appreciate the beauty of mother nature. Why sometimes I think if we did not have things to look forward to then we get depressed. Guest guest
Story.....New Yorkers move to Florida: When I was a little girl we lived in Coral Gables, Florida. I was about 3. Everytime I walked out the door, red ants swarmed me.....ONLY me......and my parents had to throw me into the pool or hose me down in a hurry. Of course, if I was to be hosed down, it meant a loud shriek from my Mom, because invaribly there would be a lizard parked on the faucet to the hose! Then at this certain time of the year palmettos would come into the house. You didn't really see them, but they'd get into the dark clothes in the closet and hide. My parents entertained alot. One night while we had company, I fell asleep in the sunken den - on the floor with my blankie. When my parents went to put me into bed, my Dad picked me up off the floor, and my Mom took the blankie. There was a palmetto under there with me and we immediatly moved north again! LOL!! The one good thing, though - we flew to Nassau and the Bahamas every weekend for a family outing. It was great fun. My Dad would buy a bunch of HUGE lobster tails from the locals, and we would roast them on rocks around a fire on the beach, and melt a coffee can of butter, we'd eat lobster until we couldn't eat another bite. Guest guest
Having grown up in Artic Canada lol .. and then California and then back to the east coast of New England so from FRIGGIN' COLD to Tropical Paradise to fairly mild - cold .. let me tell you I'd take HOT over COLD any day!!!! I cannot wait for spring. Summer. heat. lol. I shudder literally to think how much my heating bill will be. I'm always cold now I've lost my weight. I wear sweaters all the time, I have a little electric heater under my chair now at the computer and its on all the time. The house is like Florida about 80 in the house and I " m just comfortable. DH is sweating going around half naked (not a bad thing ha ha) I hate snow. I hate cold. I hate ice. lol. Ok nuff about that. Lyssa

Do you have any idea how many northerners are on this list who are absolutely hating winter with all their might right now? corky Re: COLD HERE!! << We may have lots of snow, but at least we get to shovel it.
