But I hate Well, *I* get depressed in the winter, esp in February and March when it rains non-stop almost so I can't imagine being where it was as cold as it is there where you and are... Wonder if that's why Swede's have a higher suicide rate than other countries??? Hey, hows about, seeing I'm a real estate agent and all, I find you all houses in my neighborhood (there are three currently available!! Just like mine) and we start our Atkins neighborhood??? *LOL* No, I really think you guys wouldn't like it here... Yes, it's warm, but like said, earthquakes, major heat waves, smog, crowded freeways everywhere you go, crime, gangs, floods... So compared with where you are, you might prefer a snowy winter, huh? I'd STILL move you next door though and then never let you leave (((hugs))) Kari
Guest guest
> and the summers arent that great either . we have muggy hot humid rainy > weather and lots of bugs . so bad you cant stay outside.. so you guys have > it made there despite all the mudslides, fires, earthquakes etc lol.. ( There's a house right down the street from me, you call me cause we're putting in an offer! We'll have you here by mid-February... Your daughter won't be depressed anymore, although she may start talking like a Valley Girl...*LOL* I was downloading from Napster and I needed to ask someone a question, so I went to the chat area and asked it and had a converation with someone who was helping me... so after a few minutes, someone in the chatroom said, " Hey KobesAunt, are you from California? " I said, " Yes, how'd you guess? " He said, " Because everyone in California says, 'OMG' (oh my gosh/god) " ...*LOL* I had said that a few times and it was a dead giveaway... hahahahahaahahaaa CalieGirl Kari
Guest guest
Hi Kari... Are you near the " flooding areas " in California? Your weather is getting downright nasty. Stay home...... where it is cozy! We have had a little warm up in Michigan the last three days (about 36 - 38 degrees F) and I have been able to walk a little longer outside. Monday -- 2 miles Tuesday -- 2 miles Wednesday -- 3 miles Thursday -- 3 miles Friday - ?????? maybe 4 miles ?? we will see........... problem has been icy streets...gotta be careful ! Guest guest
>NOT TRUE!!!! Kari I FEEL for you, honuy!!! I can't even think straight >when it gets in the fifties...much less the forties! >PS I shouldn't have joked about your dr visit...didn't realize you had >all those problems as you are always so cheerful here. ((((((((hugs)))))))))) *snuggling into Joya's loving big sister arms* Someone understands meeeee! *LOL* As for the doctors visit, don't worry about that, I don't get hurt or offended over things like that! It was funny and I did talk her ear off... hahahaahaaa... I knew I have anxiety and avoidance... but the agoraphobia was something new to me. I believe they are all related to depression... Anyway, don't you think twice about it, okay??? Kari
Guest guest
Oh I forgot I skied Sunday......... so I now have 5 days in a row without missing exercise.....today will make 6. Kari I think we get acclimated to the cold weather. In this picture I only have a cotton turtleneck and a regular sweatshirt. I have on summer weight pants and the temp was in the thirties. But Menopause is a big factor !! I am always warm.......... ugh !! Dianne 163/145/140 " The weakest among us can become some kind of an athlete, but only the strongest can survive as spectators. Guest guest
> Are you near the " flooding areas " in California? > Your weather is getting downright nasty. No, the floods are more near the coast where smart people build their houses on the sides of cliffs and right next to the beach... so when it rains, the cliffs collapse and the houses fall or the beaches are so high the houses get completely filled with mud. But where I am, the roads are prone to flash floods and where there are dips in the road, those are frequently washed out and you can not cross them without putting yourself in extreme danger. Yesterday on the way to the doctor, I hit puddles that made me feel like the car was going to spin out of control, but thank GOODNESS I have a car that has a low center of gravity and also has " low track " which grabs the road and controls spin outs... Rick had to go the same way today to the doctor for the pinched nerve in his neck but he took his truck so I hope he makes it okay... always a worry when it rains.. In > this picture I only have a cotton turtleneck and a regular > sweatshirt. I have on summer weight pants and the temp > was in the thirties. But Menopause is a big factor !! > I am always warm.......... ugh !! Congratulations on the exercise!! GREAT!!!!! I'm starting today... I'm at least going to do something... As for getting acclimated to the weather, I think you are correct. One thing about me is that I am very warm blooded and I hate being hot from the heater. I get clausterphobic and start to panic. One time I had a turtle neck shirt on and went to take it off. Well, it didn't want to come off from over my head and so there I stood with this shirt stuck and over my head... I started screaming at Rick, " GET IT OFF ME! GET IT OFF ME! " I mean I was panicking!!! So when it's cold out, I'm usually fine with just a jacket (I can't find my Lakers jacket ( ). I think I must get that from my Swedish genes or something because when others are freezing cold, I'm okay. Even at home I can do without the heater most times, but then again, it's only in the 30's and 40's... Kari

Guest guest
And it is beautiful. When Spring comes every year it is like a rebirth and makes on appreciate the beauty of mother nature. Why sometimes I think if we did not have things to look forward to then we get depressed. And I love summer and autumn with its splendid colours . Life is not so bad.
