Guest guest
Is she on medication? Your daughter might be metabolizing drugs differently. My daughter did and we had to reduce drugs. I know it seems weird but if you read the side effects of all of the AED's they all claim to cause seizure. My daughter initially had less seizures (on the 3 day intro) and for the week thereafter. Then she had more and we cut back some meds and the seizures leveled off after 2 weeks or so. She is still having seizures but development is better on SCD. She's been on the diet a little over 3 months. Good luck. Guest guest
Oh wouldn't it be wonderful to be able to reduce the meds? Did you do blood work to know it was time to cut back? How receptive was you neuro to this diet? My neuro says i'm painfully fascinating. > > > Has anyone ever seen an initial increase in seizure activity? > > Seizure control is one of our primary goals and my daughter seems to > > have more seizure activity lately. Guest guest
Changes in diet can definitely change the way seizure meds are metabolized, causing the levels to rise into the toxic range for some kids....... so watch for toxicity and maybe get a level check. Patti, mom to Katera, SCD 10 months........ seizure kid, too. Re: seizures Is she on medication? Your daughter might be metabolizing drugs differently. My daughter did and we had to reduce drugs.
