I had to comment after Rob Jordan's reply.

First, on the topic of Scientology and religion, don't think anyone can take

religion away from a person if they are comfortable with their own beliefs.

Second, it only makes sense to recognize the amount of help that our

profession needs, to overcome the challenges of physician owned practices,

chiro's,

Medicare cap and not to mention finding quality help etc.. These are the

things that we have to " attack " and handle rather than bash Measurable

Solutions

who is trying to help the PT profession with management training. What I

got from MS was to help with my business management, my personal life back and

an ability to create a opportunity in working PT-PAC and other areas to help

the profession overcome the challenges mentioned above. If you've taken

much of the coursework and NOT gained from it, then I understand your gripe.

I'd recommend that you go over to the booth (CMS) and tell the MS people your

thoughts and feelings. But from my experience (through the # of times I've

been down here) their are a ton of happy PT's that are significantly improving

their practices and helping the PT profession move forward through the

consulting the MS does.

Mark,

Why don't you call MS and ask them about their fees. I don't think it is a

good idea (on a forum) to talk about other companies fees-that can change

and/or get into the wrong hands (competitors).

Rob:

No offense taken to the sanity comments. I've been called worse.

Anyway, back to the fee question:

So, how much did Measurable Solutions charge for all those courses?

Are you not allowed to disclose such information?

You would do this list-serve and your profession a great service to disclose

such information.

Peace.

Wow, I subscribed to this message board because I thought the intention was to

share

information and provide a forum for therapists to offer advice, guidance and

help to each

other. I have been a member of APTA for almost 20 years. I have served on

numerous

committees, task forces and have constantly strived to better the conditions

facing our

profession. For the past few years I have served as the President of the

Arkansas

chapter. I have given hundreds of volunteer hours to my profession, seeking

nothing in

return. Our national initiative to gain direct access to Medicare patients is

being sponsored

in the US Senate by my Sentor, Blanche Lincoln because of the relationship I

have forged

with her over the years. Never before was I aware that my service was a covert

attempt of

Measurable Solutions to " infiltrate " APTA with Scientology.

I am personally offended by such a ridiculous allegation. Sanity is defined as

the ability to

see when two things are the same and when two things are different. Measurable

Solutions is a management consulting company that works with private practice

owners to

help them run their practices better. That is all. I originally had many of the

same

questions about how it could be possible. Well, it is. I am living proof of

that. I followed

the rules, practiced ethically, and learned the tools that we were not taught in

school. I

had the ability to see when two things are different. I am happier now than I

have ever

been in my life thanks to the help I received at Measurable.

Did it cost money? Yes. But every dollar I invested paid 10 x in return.

Measurable

Solutions teaches management techniques through a technology developed by Mr.

Hubbard. It is a vehicle to help you succeed. And like any vehicle you want

there is a

cost associated with it. Like the vehicle you drive to work, some would call it

a luxury that

you paid too much for. Others would say it was worth every penny. I choose to

look at the

latter because I am able to see differences. We all must choose our own road and

the

vehicle we wish to travel in. Likewise, we must choose our traveling companions.

Personally, I choose to travel with those in my profession who are doing

something to

help my profession, rather than deriding those who have made the journey and are

offering to help others avoid the potholes.

I too have served on my State Chapters' Legislative Committee for 10+ years,

been involved in the APTA Governmental affairs, been an advocate of my

profession, been a member of the APTA since 1992, and have also BEEN EMPLOYED BY

A SURVIVAL STRATEGIES CLINIC and to say that scientology is not a part of their

education and training is a gross understatement.? I left my previous job and

started my own clinic due to this reason.? It is what it is--you can't hide the

fact that they are " teaching " L. Ron Hubbard?principles/Scientology for business

purposes.? That is like saying that an evangelist is preaching to the crowd just

to increase the strength of his vocal cords.? Please, get real, the purpose of

this is to spread scientology while at the same time make some much needed

income for the WISE enterprises.? Where do the funds that you pay to this

company end up?? I don't doubt that the principles that they teach you are

business related, I know they are, but compare the terminology of Measureable

Solutions and Survival Strategies with the terminology used by

scientologists--it is one in the same.

Rob, one question--are you a scientologist?

Just an FYI to those who are against MS, there is no such thing as bad

publicity, just from seeing all the buzz here I am

more interested in them than ever and may just take the course to satisfy my

curiosity. So if you are against them you're acting in a self

defeating manner.
