Guest guest
Hello I think breast milk is a wonderful thing as long as you are also scd legal. It was a world of help to my daughter when I implemented GF/CF/SF at five months old for her I was also on the diet. She is completely fine developmentally but still has food issues. I believe that every child on the spectrum would benefit from diet as well as an intensive educational program, and coupled with sensory integration. My son has had so much effect his sensory systems and the support that sensory integration provides to the healing process is so important for him. Mom to 4 1/2 SCD over 3 months 2 1/2 scd over 2 months
Guest guest
What is the SCD opinion on breast milk? I am nursing my one year old and could pump for my older child. Any thoughts on this? Also, has there been any testimonies on complete healing from autism through diet alone, or is everyone doing ABA therapy, etc, also? Guest guest
Hi , Breast milk from a mother who is also doing SCD can be wonderful for children. If the mom is eating illegals, then it's not a good thing. Apparently some of it goes through to the breastmilk. Sheila, SCD 36 mos UC 20 yrs mom of SCD 21 mos What is the SCD opinion on breast milk? Guest guest
Breastmilk is legal; the advice has usually been that you follow the child's diet. breast milk What is the SCD opinion on breast milk? Guest guest
I would think breast milk would be wonderful for an SCD child. You would have to be SCD yourself though. My celiac son had symptoms of gluten-intolerance before he ever started solid food. He reacted horribly to the gluten in my diet. The tiniest bit of contamination in my diet made him horribly sick. Gluten (and lots of other foods) does pass through the milk. I do not think it is possible for a child to recover on diet alone. Most of our kids were not diagnosed the moment they became autistic. There was a slow decline until either we or someone else noticed and questioned it. By the time the parent gets the diagnosis and finds out about diet, much time is lost. Even in the rare case that the child is completely healed of autism by diet alone, there is much ground lost because the stages of development did not follow the time they were naturally supposed to occur. ABA and other types of therapies help a child catch up those lost years. > What is the SCD opinion on breast milk? I am nursing my one year > old and could pump for my older child.
