Guest guest
The Generic I'm taking is Time-Cap Labs, based in Farmingdale, New York, USA... A prescription grade generic that is purchased for me by a friend.. Over-the-counter in Mexico. Nutri-meds seems to be turning out to be less of a bargain for those that need high doses... I'm still not sure how this all works.. I'm still well over 300 pounds with no thyroid function at all and I get excellent results with Nutri-Meds at 2 tabs (4 grain) per day and generic at 2 1/2 grain per day. My curiosity is: Is this due to my frequent dosing of the thyroid and all my others supps... ? Dose it make that much of a difference????? Just to review.. I dose thyroid 5 times a day, Adrenal four times a day, I split my vitamins into 1/8's and have a chip with each mini meal and one about an hour before bed when I take my vitamin C, iron and Calcium. I take my C a total of 4 times a day, selenium 3 times a day. E once, iron once, and Glucosimine/Chondroitin once every other day. I've worked it out so that those that can (or should) be taken with food are divided among the three 'main meal' times of the day, the glandulars are taken sublingually between mini-meals.. and the rest of the supps taken an hour before bed.... One thyroid dose is taken when I wake, one as I crawl into bed... the other three during the day.... So it's really not hard to remember it's just part of a routine. And I feel great! Dose it make that much of a difference????? > Topper () Hi Topper - I think you need more frequent dosing because you have no thyroid...even with partial thyroid functioning or a disabled but still present thyroid, how do we know that it doesn't do other things for us that someone without a thyroid does not get the benefit of? I personally have NEVER thought nutrimeds thyroid could sub in for pure thyroid hormones...I am surprised to hear this. But I myself had an excellent response to thyroid glandulars when I could not get any thyroid at all - but in retrospect, my response did not hold a candle to Armour or even synthroid/cytomel - it was just dramatically better than without any....so still it remains a mystery (at least to me, if not to others). It did cost me WAY MORE in glandulars than the " real thing " ....But that was probably 12-18 years ago I was using glandulars. In any event I think your regimine works very well (flawlessly, shall we say?) for you and very likely because you are so precise with it. Guest guest
That could very well be it, .... I don't know if it's in my head/body clock or that I actually feel it, but I can tell when dosing time comes up... And I just can't describe how my days are now.... I start out with my morning UP, just like I did before they thyroid storm... and the UP lasts all day long.. I don't have any slumps during the day, afternoon, evening.. and when it's getting about bed time I'm ready... last night I slept so soundly that I curled up on my left side and woke in the same position this morning.. Didn't even roll over... I didn't have major pillow wrinkles... none of my limbs fell asleep.... it was just a luxury... AND I'm on the last day of my period.... Imagine that, slept that soundly, not waking every hour worrying about if I have to clean up or not... It's like a whole new life!!! I think the hardest challenge that I have now, health wise - hold on to your hats - is actually maintaining my minimum calorie intake.... I got a virus infected computer brought in yesterday, so I've been buried in that, I get so involved when I'm on a project like that (digging out the infection that the scanner flags but does not clean) and then going through and cleaning up four, almost five, years of a puter that was never maintained.... anyway.. got so involved in that that I skipped my mini meals twice... I never got hungry! So I had to pig out last night to bring my calories up to minimum! That is just so totally insane... to have to catch up with the eating that I missed... to keep from gaining weight.... I know it sounds insane.. but I'm four months into this and, so far, all the basic rules are holding true.... The pants that were sent to me about a week and a half ago... (from one of our members that shrunk out of them and passed them on to me) fit quite nicely when I first tried them... now they are just a tad loose... Darn good thing that she sent several sizes! I'm gonna need them!!! hheheheheh This is so much fun! For the first time ever this isn't any work but it's doing what it's supposed to - allowing my body to work as it should and strive toward it's healthy weight instead of the panicked fat storing mode that it's been in since being hypo and always trying to skip meals and cut calories to not gain. Think about it, everybody... how much is being healthier and feeling and looking better to you? Enough to sit down and actually figure out what your body needs to work right instead of trying all the FAD diets...? Oh... slipping of soap box really fast before I start getting hit with diet bars and diet drink cans...... Topper () *who isn't that precise, that's how I know that I can throw thyroid and adrenal under my tongue at the same time and that they go okay together* > Hi Topper - I think you need more frequent dosing because you have > no > thyroid...even with partial thyroid functioning or a disabled but > still present thyroid, how do we know that it doesn't do other > things > for us that someone without a thyroid does not get the benefit of? > I > personally have NEVER thought nutrimeds thyroid could sub in for > pure > thyroid hormones...I am surprised to hear this.
