Hi Leanne, The ones recommended by Prof O'Brien and his mob are the Pluravit Multivitamins for Women. They look pretty gigantic, but in fact are a gel type capsule that dissolve very rapidly once ingested. I have taken these since first being banded and have never had a problem with them getting stuck. .

I was told to use a soluble multivitamin called Supradyn and also an Iron supplement called Fergon, which unfortunately has made me very constipated so every third day I've been taking a laxative to counteract that!! >I've recently invested in my first tin of > Sustagen (Dutch Choc - yum!). I was also told to have one of these drinks everyday, no problem there it tastes beautiful!! Two weeks will fly for you Leanne, I'm already 2 weeks postop!! ) Height: 5'7 " Banded: 21/12/00 Weight Then: 110 kg Now: 105kg (as of this morning)

Re vitamins, I am taking Swisse Women's Ultivite. They are a multi vitamin and mineral and anti-oxidant with herbs. They are an easily disolvable capsule and made in Australia (if that means anything to anyone) Not cheap though @ $29.90 for 120 (2 mths supply) They last a bit longer if I forget a day here and there. I am also now taking Chromium Picolinate (Nature's Own 400 mcg). I decided today to give it a go. http://www.ozband.com/faq_food.html Only two weeks to go Leanne. I'll be back from my holiday shortly after and will be anxious to hear how you are. Oh and I luv sustagen too. Good Luck. My dietician has also said that certain supplements are > good prior to surgery to assist in healing.> > Prior to my next surgical procedure I will be taking a few things > like zinc to help things along. My naturopath has also suggested zinc for healing, and has given me some Blackmore's Milk Thistle tablets to help my liver (which I'm pleased about after all this talk of fatty livers and open surgery, given that I'm less than 2 weeks away from my op !) and I must say I feel better overall than I have in months. The tablets are also much more palatable than the putrid green liver-cleansing concoction a girlfriend of mine was on recently !I haven't put much credence in naturopathics until now, but this lady knew what she was talking about (how do they know so much from looking at your eyes ??). So, in the lead up to my op, I'm now on Blackmore's Executive B multivitamin, BioZinc, and Milk Thistle. I know that bandsters should take multivitamins regularly after banding - can I ask which ones people use ? The Executive B are like horse pills, and I'm concerned about them getting stuck and causing great pain. Powdered form sounds ideal. I've recently invested in my first tin of Sustagen (Dutch Choc - yum!). I'll have to ask the naturopath next time I see her, who by the way, has worked with a bandster before, and knew of Prof O'Brien. She was very positive about it.... who would have expected that ?!Leanne
Guest guest
, Well done girl. That's 5 kg since 21/12 (only 2 weeks) Good things come in tiny packages. Are you really 57" (4' 9") or should that read 5' 7". Glad to hear you are doing so well. I tried using the soluble Supradyn. It's not bad but I didn't feel as good when on it compared to the Swiss Womens Ultivite. When on Supradyn I was also taking Berocca Soluble B's. There is a wide range to select from really. Anyway glad your on your way to shedding those kg's.
